Just started getting BACK in to console gaming after a long hiatus to PC gaming. Never really collected untill this year when I bought Dracula X for Saturn, and THEN bought a saturn system. they I started buying cool games for that, and got the interest to keep my good games and stop selling them. I only casually collect. My first goal is to own all US released Castlevanias, and eventually get everything Castlevania related that I can find.

    Who you are

I go by the gaming moniker 'Fourzerotwo'. Its my gamercard, its my web address, its my username of choice no matter what the circumstance.

    Where you live

I currently reside in the beautiful Los Angeles, CA area.

    How you found the forums

From a friend of a friend named Google. On the prowl for some tips on keeping your gaming collecting up to par, and came across this beautiful piece of resources.

    What your favorite games are

Wow. Thats kinda like asking a father to pick his favorite child, or a child to pick his favorite flavor of ice cream. I suppose I'll have to limit one per console:

NES = The Legend of Zelda + Super Mario Brothers 3 + Paperboy
Gameboy = The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening
Gameboy Advance = The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past + Castlevania: Curse of the Moon
SNES = Super Mario Kart + SimAnt
    Turbo-graphix 16= Bonk's Adventure + Bomberman '93 + Military Madness
Sega Genesis = Gauntlet IV + Toe Jam and Earl + Sonic The Hedgehog
Sega CD = Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure + Space Ace + Jurassic Park
Sega Dreamcast = Crazi Taxi + Typing of the Dead + House of the Dead
N64 = The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time + Goldeneye + Rush
Xbox = Ghost Recon + Star Wars: Battlefront
Wii = The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess + all Virtual Console games
Xbox 360 = Call of Duty 2 + Gears of War + Lego Star Wars II
Xbox Live Arcade = Marble Blast Ultra + Cloning Clyde

For sake of time, I know I've left a lot out!

    What systems you collect for

    NES
    SNES
    Gameboy
    Gameboy Advance
    Sega Genesis
    Sega CD
    Sega Dreamcast
    Sega Saturn
    N64
    Gamecube
    Xbox
    Xbox 360
    Wii

    Pretty much anything besides Playstation.

What you do in "real life"

In 'real life' I work for a video game developer called Infinity Ward. We develop the 'Call of Duty' franchise for Xbox 360 / PC and all next-gen consoles. In my free time, I also started The Console[r] which remains a mystery until launch.

Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.

I've been an avid gamer my entire life, and an un-official collector of all things video games for that entire time, however what started the 'official' collecting of it all was when I traveled back home for the holidays and was poking around the old homestead.

I discovered an original Sega Genesis + Sega CD with a whole boxful of games that had been left there. I immediately fired it up and started playing the old classics. They were all in perfect shape and had just been stored up for safe keeping. I shipped it back to California along with some other old gaming finds from back home and then began to organize my collection once I returned, adding new things that I'd lost or was missing from my collection [i.e. Favorite classics, A/V cables, etc.]

I also run a blog called Fourzerotwo, its more of a personal blog, but also talks Vid Games business from time to time, but always in the vein of general video game topics.

I look forward to chatting with all of you!

    Exclamation

I don't believe I ever bothered to introduce myself!

    - Who you are

I am Lee. I've been around the internets for a while, but this is one of the few boards I want to call home now.

    - Where you live

    Memphis. Soon to be Sacramento.

    - How you found the forums

    Online rarity guide.

    - What your favorite games are

Xenogears, Final Fantasy VII, Psychonauts, Micro Machines

    - What systems you collect for

I tried Sega CD for a while, but once I got around 30 games, I realized about 25 sucked so forget it. Maybe I'll collect Saturn soon though!

    - What you do in "real life"

    I make copies. Wow.

    - Any other interesting facts

I make a review show! It's gotten a few subscribers on youtube. I'm about average quality at best (for my standards). Most people seem to love it though. Check out my sig!

I'm sure that fad won't last. I always go through fad phases. Last year it was baseball card autographs. I got about 130+, more than half of which were on baseball cards from 1957 to 1969. 98% success rate on old players, 94% success rate overall. The cards look pretty sweet. I think I'll post a youtube slideshow of them all on a separate account. I respect the old timey players, and I'm sure a lot of them love getting fanmail. I think I'll do it again this year, but not so much. I won't be sending to any current players because there's no one I can trust. (lol steroids)

I like sports, and I don't know why. I intend to go to a lot of college sports games this year for some schools in my area, notably the University of Memphis, Rhodes, Chrisitan Brothers Univeristy, and possibly Crichton College. I don't like driving to crowded-ass downtown too often, and I'll mostly be going to basketball, baseball, and football events that have 60-200 in attendance.

I haven't been to FedEX forum more than once. It's a pain in the ass down there. :-( Oh well.

I also have a kidney stone at the moment! Yay me!

Great meeting you all. I hope to post much more often. Since you can't respond to me, here is my official Still Gaming topic.

    - Who you are

    My name's Jared.

    - Where you live

    California (near Sacramento)

    - How you found the forums

Hmm, I've known about the site for a while, but I think I first heard of it at GameFAQs, or possibly NES World.

    - What your favorite games are

My top three would be Metal Gear Solid, Chrono Trigger, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. After that, it just becomes a grey area, since I like most games I play.

    - What systems you collect for

Right now, I have an NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, PS1, Saturn, Dreamcast, PS2, and Gamecube. I hope to get a Master System and Atari VCS/2600 some day in the future, and possibly a Neo Geo AES.

    - What you do in "real life"

I'm a student, but I work at a martial arts school.

    - Any other interesting facts

I only started collecting older games in June. That started when I found a Zapper along with my SNES games. I didn't have an NES, but about two weeks later, I found one in my science fiction class (I have no idea what it was doing there), and the teacher said I could keep it. And thus, my collecting days began. I don't have a whole lot of games (only a hundred or two), but I'm getting there

I really need to get more Dreamcast and Saturn games, though. I only have two of each.

    Red face

Hey everyone! I'm Jamie and I live in the state of Maryland. I've actually known about the forum here for a few years now, but I never joined until now. I love the old school gaming goodness provided by the good folks at Digital Press.
I've been gaming since 1989, when my brother got his Nintendo Entertainment System. My favorite games are too many to mention them all, but I'll just name a few:

    Contra (NES)
    Rad Racer (NES)
    Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (NES)
    Blaster Master (NES)
    Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES)
    Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Genesis)
    Rocket Knight Adventures (Genesis)
    Silpheed (Sega CD)
    Donkey Kong Country (Super NES)
    Super Metroid (Super NES)
    Crono Trigger (Super NES)
    Super Mario 64 (N64)
    Jumping Flash (Playstation)
    Crash Bandicoot (Playstation)
    Layer Section (Saturn)
    RayStorm (Playstation)

I collect games for the NES (top loader), Twin Famicom, Game Boy, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64, Playstation, and the Dreamcast.

In "real life", I'm a temp at a major banking business. Basically, I make edits to the website and do some filing, copying...all that "office stuff".
I actually became a collector rather unintentionally. Back in 2002, I decided to purchase a NES again because I just missed the good 'ol days of pressing A to jump and B to shoot. Months turend into years, and buying 1 gaming system turned into suddenly turned into having 10 systems (3 of which are the PS2, Xbox 360, and Wii) hooked up to my humble 25' old Television. after I purchased the Sega Genesis a few years ago, I knew that I was officially a collector of school games and won't be giving up my collection unless my life depends on it.

I spend my spare time playing those games, and also writing reviews on them on the internets. I'll put up a link in my posts whenver I write a new one, but don't worry...I won't spam the joint.

    Nice to meet eveyone

    Hi!
I'm John, a 33 years old interiordesigner from Oslo, Norway.
I've been here for a while but I've just start posting - think I found the forum through my search for retrogames on the net.

I collect for nearly all systems, but NES (PAL-B/SCN) is my main collection.
My favorite games must be Galaga and Xevious.
    I also run a retrosite/forum in Norwegian.

    Thanks!

Never could afford games in those days, but later on starting getting paid and discovered ebay. Havent been collecting long, but i dont see a stop sign any where near.

Hey all, my name is Lance Bohy, 36, and I've been gaming most of my natural life. I have fond memories of my family spending countless hours playing our Sears Tele-Games Video Arcade system - which I still have in its original package btw.

Can't say that I was really ever a serious collector until about 3 years ago. On a whim I bought a bundle of old classic Activision games for the VCS off of eBay and to my surprise, I couldn't stop playing them. Fast forward 3 years and several conventions (including 2 CGEs) later and I now consider myself a pretty die-hard collector.

I collect for any system that I can find and have a "thing" for the old console computers of the 80s, like the Commodores, Ataris, TIs, CoCos, etc. I'm mainly a complete-in-box collector but I'd never pass up a rare gem for the lack of a box. Of late, I've been mainly collecting homebrew games for various systems (Vectrex, 2600, 5200, Intellivision, Colecovision, etc) and am amazed at the quality and dedication shown in these games. Keep it up guys!

My favorite games? I'd say the Castlevania series has always been a consistent fav, as well as Mega Man. I enjoy platformers for the most part but can also really get into a good space sim: I still consider X-Wing on the PC to be about as near-perfect a game as you can get. Of late, twitch-action games like Qwak (on the GBA) have been stealing the show.

In real life I'm an applications programmer for the US Government. I do mostly web enabled apps, but have done some other stuff as well.

Interesting facts? I have a wall-o-fame of signed boxes in my office. I love meeting and talking to the legends that started this industry. Like many of you, I collect toys as well... I probably have more toys than games... although the gap is closing. I'm trying to organize my game collection at RF Generation, so far I've plugged in 180, only got 1500+ to go check it out: http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/...der=Collection
