I'd gotten the impression that this was a Blockbuster exclusive, but my local Toys R Us has them too. Are they packaged differently at all? Has anyone else seen this?

Got any obscure game stuff?
I have not seen them at Toys R Us
wonder what the price is?
One would think the packaging is different. The Blockbuster "exclusive" has the Blocbuster Video logo on it... do you think Toys 'R Us would stock those? Please don't make me find out for myself. I was hoping to put a great distance between retail stores and I until after the holidays.
Outlaw Golf 9 Holes of Christmas is a Blockbuster Exclusive untill it comes out on the X-Box magazine demo disc in the Febuary issue. Maybe the UPS guy dropped off the wrong box?
I have seen a few Blockbusters selling it at $49. What was the Toys r Us selling it for?
Does anyone know the rarity? I live within the area of 10 Blockbuster stores and they all recieved 5-7 copies with no second shipment.
I bought my copy from Toys'R'Use after fruitless searches at numerous Blockbusters. It's just a demo game with a winter theme, sorta like howChristmas Nights was to Nights. It's sold for $5. I heard some BB sell them for higher but they aren't supposed to. My guess is the manager gets confused seeing a demo game in a retail game case and thinks the computer ring up price is a mistake as a result.
Oh as for the packaging, the cover on the TRU one says Outlaw Golf Holiday Golf. And a little red circle that says "9 Holes for the Holidays! Plus $5 off the original Outlaw Golf!"
Inside is just a folded paper, with instructions on one side and rebate offer form on other.
I saw that in the Toys R Us ad today...TRU has it (here called "Holiday Golf" and another game in a new XBox bundle...I of course, came up empty again...I still want to find this game, Feb. issue of the XBox magazine huh?? *sigh* guess I'll have to wait...

anyone need some more of that game? my bb has alot left
How is it packaged? The Blockbuster game looks just like a standard Xbox game, with the green DVD case and all. I'm curious about the TRU version, but if it's in a paper sleeve I'm not going to go out of my way for it.Originally Posted by E Nice
Well, the TRU one is in a normal XBox/DVD case like the other games, and no sign of a Blockbuster logo that popped out at me (no TRU logo either I don't think). I don't know the price, since the shelves were in a fair state of disarray...
Like another poster said, it's also available in a bundle they have with the normal system & two games deal, but they throw in this and another game (Sea Fighter? something like that only a better title than I'm indicating -- I got the impression that it was a bit like Blood Wake, only under the water too), all for $250.
If anyone wants the TRU version and can't find it, I might be able to pick some up; the only problem is that I'll only be in town still this week, and it's a trifle busy, so let me know as soon as possible (slapdash@enteract.com). Also let me know if you only want it if it's $5 like at BB, or if you'd pay more if it costs more (I doubt it will, judging by another post above, just covering details here).

oooooooopppppppps wrong pic joe hmmm hold on a second
Aha! It DOES have the Blockbuster label on it! So Toys 'R Us is selling a "Blockbuster Exclusive" title?! What's up with that?!
NOTE: The BB label is just below the text "9 Holes".

Now I gotta scour the local Toys 'R Us stores!
Someone needs to compare the game - who knows? Maybe the 9 holes are different on each game!
WTF? I just found some BB copies and now I have to go to TRU for this SOB! Oh well GOOD LUCK TO ME!
My Toy's R Us has them for $4.99 too They do not have the BB logo on it. The hole's are the same. The difference from the back of the boxes (I didn't open mine yet so i don't know what's actually on the discs)
OG: Holiday Golf - 9 All new holes for the holidays, not included in the original Outlaw Golf, $5.00 coupon off original Outlaw Golf game
OG: 9 holes of X-Mas - 9 All new holes for the holidays, not included in the original Outlaw Golf, Free game rental offer, The Original Outlaw Golf Demo, Live action video segment featuring Summer, Autumn, Mistress Suki and Puddin'
My two BlockBuster's in my area also have tons of these left.
Ebay is absolutely flooded with these. There must be hundreds of auctions listed. Good Deal Games which is a site i happen to like sells them for $18.95 (Which i dislike) and there information is incorrect, they say each store recieved only 5 copies.
My local Circuit City is selling the Exhibition discs for $4.99 not $7.99 as marked and you also get a free T-shirt with purchase whoever wants to know.
Just a correction on my part. I recieve a monthly game/info letter from Good Deal Games saying each store recieved 5 copies, They do not mention this on the site, there website states there were only 5000 produced. (9 holes of X-Mas)
Also, one of my BlockBuster's has them on display stands at the register while another keeps them locked in a counter behind the register and when you ask they say "I think were sold out of those" I have to find the youngest kid there with the key to get one.
EXCELLENT information, thank you! So you say the holes are the same - is the disc content the same? Seems the BB version states it's got stuff the Holiday Golf edition doesn't state. Safe to assume the same ISO is burned onto both versions and just the packaging is different?
Oh great now I have to get the other one!Well I guess while I am there I will get Sneakers oto. x_x
Well, I finally got the Toys R Us version of Holiday Golf...still no luck on the Blockbuster version (hey, what can I say, I'm sick, I need help)...I looked for about 10 minutes, got accosted by a child I had helped at work today (ok, he hugged me, but hey, I was tired, sleepy, and I was in a bad mood after work). So now all I need is an XBox to play it on (7 days and counting...)
Also found Loco-motion and Horse Racing for Intellivision...overpayed ($5 each loose) but when those games are in such short supply around here, and these were both in my top 3 Intellivision wants...any port in a storm
