Default Whats your fav/most valuable collectable?

We all have our favorite or most valuable video games and systems, but what do you hold most dear to your heart when it comes to the video game inspired collectables that you shell out the bucks for? What "toys" do you value the most in your collection?
I look around my room of doom and hold many of the trinkets that I've accumulated in high regard, but I can't really say what I place the most value on. I'd like to hear about yours, and what makes it so special to you.

From the pics I see, I really like that VirtualBoy display unit. The Neo Geo cab is beautiful, is it a store display unit or an arcade machine. If it's an arcade machine, what would you say is your most valued collectable- not including games or actual systems/arcades.

That is a beautiful promo poster! How did you get it? How long have you owned it? Did it cost you a lot or was it a sweet steal that had you bursting inside with joy until you got it out of the store?
Not a poster I even remember seeing at the launch of Earthbound.

I got the poster for like 60 dollars off Ebay. I got it for cheap because the other guy bid like 250 on a Chrono Trigger poster. It was like maybe 5 months ago, a Ebay selling partner was selling a huge lot of video game posters that someone had decided to sell.

Heres a pic of the controller.

I guess right now it's my unopened MegaDrive Encyclopedia. I still want to get another one so I can open one, but until I have two I am not opening the one that I have. So that makes it very special to me because ordinarily I open everything that I get as soon as I get it. But for some reason I just can't bring myself to open it until I have more than one. It just seems like the kind of thing that you should keep unopened, or at least keep an extra unopened copy of. It only cost me $50 plus shipping, but I'm hoping that someday it will be worth mega bucks. They were selling on ebay for $100 or more during Christmastime. So I am definitely going to keep one unopened.

Sothy, I like the swiss army knife attachments on that- what games are they most useable on??
Unopened is always so intrigueing- you want to look, but you don't want to open it- the torture is almost unbearable. You had better get a 2nd encyclopedia!!
I've been collecting Nintendo toys from Japan lately- UFO catcher stuff etc and have had my eye on the Club Nintendo stuff too. I've heard that they were bring out the Club Nintendo stuff in North America soon.... BUT WHEN???
I miss the old "Nintendo Power Supplies" mag supplement that came with Nintendo Power- all the cool stuff they had always keep me interested! and buying!!

Tell me about it! It's driving me NUTS! I wanna rip that sucker open and check out all the contents so freakin' bad, and I've had it for almost 3 months now! I have to keep it hidden from myself so I don't see it. I am definitely getting another one ASAP, so I can finally open one and look inside it. This is worse than waiting for Christmas to finally come, so I can open my presents! I hear that it's a really nice book too, I'm dying to see all the old screenshots.

My FAVORITE gaming collectible is probably my framed Sylphia print ad from Japan, closely followed by the framed Shin Megami Tensei one.

Other than those...I don't know. I have a lot of that kind of stuff.

I really don't know what my favorite item is. It's a tough question.

But, one of my favorites is my Sonic 2 promotional banner from like 1992. I love that thing so much.

Probably the only thing I have that meets at the crossroads of cool / pseudo-valuable is my Vectrex. I saved it from the rain outside goodwill I did. And I've told that story like 500 times.

I don't have a permanent favorite (though my boxed, basically brand-new Contra The Hard Corps import copy comes to mind immediately whenever I read such a topic...not my most expensive game but one of them! Samurai Spirits IV AES would probably be my game worth the most $$$).

Right now my item of the day is the Henry Explorers (Crypt Killer) OST, by Konami/Konami Kukeiha Club - there's some really good music in there, just what you'd expect from the KKC! I hope to OGGify some of it and release it to the forum sometime.

ASSEMblerEX that art from Acclaim is really cool I think considering that Acclaim has been having a pretty tough run of it the last few years. If they went out of business then it would be even more valuable from a collectable stand point!!

Not including games or systems guys- what posters, toys, store displays etc are your most fav or valuable too you. It doesn't have to be what you spent the most money on- value is in the eyes of the beholder.

Some of the things I love the most in my collection are keys chains ,stuffies and figurines. I got this cool UFO catcher toy (plushie of Mario holding a bucket- a promo type toy from the S FAM game Mario and Wario, which I have too) I won it on E-bay (along with a Baby Mario keychain from Yoshi's Island) both with original tags on from the early-middle 90's. I value them pretty high- non replaceable to me(well pretty difficult at that) I've never seen them in any other collections .
