Default Bryan "Kidhype" Smith of Retrogaming Radio dies

If you care (if you don't, then this aint for you).. and if you haven't heard:

    www.monroeworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=901

Some of you may have seen Bryan at CGE at the Retrogaming Radio booth.

Anyway, he was always a fixture on IRC for several years to the point where through our countless online conversations, I felt I knew him personally. Although he didn't post here, he was a classic gamer through and through and definitely "one of us".. I for one will miss him.

I didn't know him well but I've worked with him at CGE and we did speak on several occasions. I feel terrible - he was a young man. Kinda puts everything in perspective once again. Enjoy every day, folks.

Infections can get pretty bad if not caught early on. Obviously, they didn't find it until it was too late. This kind of thing really reminds you of how fragile life really is. You just have to be ready to go at any minute.

It said he was diabetic - they can go downhill much faster with infections.... It is a lot more common for diabetic people to have amputations and such.

I listened to that show several times. Poor dude... he will be missed.[/list]

Although I haven't listened to RGR in quite a while, I'd like to express my condolescences to Shane R. Munroe and to Bryan's family. That really sucks.

Dammit. Met Bri once at CGE a few years back. Was a genuinely nice guy. Sad to hear this. God speed.

I'm still very much in disbelief over this.

I've said maybe two or three things tops on the RGR forums (old and new), but I listen to the show religiously and have all of the various collections. Some of my favorite spots were when Shane and Bryan would play and review a game on air. Those still make me laugh. Just won't be the same without him, but I hope it can carry on.

I may not have known him, but I will miss him on the shows and the boards, even if I didn't agree with him sometimes. He seemed like a good guy and a loving husband. I hope that he is at peace and that his family and friends can make it through this difficult time.

When I saw the sticky, it felt as if I was hit.

I've religiously listened to the show for, man, I dunno, over a year for sure. I've chatted with Bryan online (who I found out was another CoCo enthusiast from back in the day) and he was always a great guy. He did an excellent job producing Retrogaming Radio and was a perfect counter-point to Shane's points.

He shall be missed and will always be remembered.

I didn't know him, but that's a real pity. It was nice of you to post this - death, especially when someone was young or even just youngish (I consider anyone dying before 50 to be grounds for saying "wow that was young") is always a hard thing to take.

    My best to his family.

    Sucks.

I didn't know Bryan that well either - we mostly chatted at CGEs about gaming, Robotron, and gaming, and he was always a very nice guy. I can't imagine the pain that his family and close friends are feeling right now.

    He is missed.

I never knew him, met him or listened to the radio show. He sounds like a great guy who truly loved the hobby.

    That's terrible...

I never knew him, but I occasionally listened to the radio show...and it was quite interesting, and fun. My condolences to Mr. Smith's family and friends.

Never heard of him and never did hear of the show...

But that does'nt change the fact that someone who did alot for the community has now passed away.

My condolences also to his friends and family.

Lots of them. I went to High School with a girl that got an infection in her spine that went from fever to dead in 6 hours.
