Hi Folks,
Acquired a bunch of Brazilian Atari 2600 games lately, and some aren't on the list. Well, here goes:
Combate--No Brand name, obviously, a Combat clone. Looks similar to "black labe, no pic" Atari brand carts, but w/ a different font. Says:
Cartucho Programa
Combate
CX-2601
1-5 Tanque
6-9 Tanque Pong
10-14 Tanque Invisivel
15-20 Aeroplano
21-27 Jatos
Usar Com Controle De Pino
End label says "Combate"--no quote marks, of course.
Next We have a Digivision brand cart simply called "Snoopy," which is of course, a Snoopy and the Red Baron Clone.
Next is a cart that is on the list, but this may be a completely different cart. It is a Videomac 4 in one cart (doesn't say "4 in 1" on it). It has two switches and contains Frostbite, Megamania, Pitfall, Tennis. The one in the guide siply says "4 in 1" and doesn't list the games, so it may be different.
Next is a Rentacom brand copy of Pengo
Next is a Cart that is a copy of Frogger but only says so on the end label. The front Label says "Atari Mania" and the back label (yep the back label) says "Kids Video Games." So, Dunno what brand it is.
Next is a game by Play Video (In the guide I saw a couple of Videoplay carts, but this definitely says Play Video). The end label says River Raid II. It is in fact, River Raid with slightly different landscape patterns.
Next is a Digitel cart of Spider Man. I think it may be starting to suffer bit rot, as the graphics start to really glitch up. It is indeed an EPROM upon inspection.
Last is a non-working Paratropa by Dismac. It too is an EPROM and I think the EPROM rotted away (I'm guessing this is what happenned to my Snoopy and the Red Baron cart by Canal 3).
Joe, if you want Paratropa and Snoopy (damn I really wanted that Snoopy to work!!!!!! Must...collect....all versions....of ...SNOOPY!!) send me your address in an email. If you have any luck with them, cool. I thought you may want them for archival purposes though, even if they don't work. You may notice on Snoopy that I covered the EPROM with a sticker. If you get Snoopy to work, I'll buy it back, heh heh heh.
Yours,
Rob
