I checked Joe's list and didn't see anything in Ohio. (Did I miss something?)
Does anyone know of any great gaming events in that area? How often do they happen?
Thanks.

These sites are both outdated...
Basically, I should just keep checking back every month or so, huh? I hope these things continue... it seems that all of the good stuff happens out on the west coast.

Don't forget CinciClassic:

It's supposed to return this year! (No, I don't know "when.") And driving to some of the other meetings/cons is not out of the question. I'm in Ohio too and just last year I roadtripped to both Chicago and ECGX. And there was a Digital Press gathering at Kings Island last year. Year before that? Cedar Point.
There are informal meetings in Chi-town, Michigan, New Jersey, Philly, New York, etc. So this "mostly west coast" is pretty much crap. In fact, most stuff happens on the EAST coast - within easy drivig distance for day trips.
My point is that there is Ohio stuff. There's even "about an hour or so away" stuff. You just gotta either keep your ears open or you have to organize it yourself.

I forgot about cinciclassic, it's just that I haven't anything about it that it slipped my mind.
Actually, Scooter and I were recently tossing ideas around for a more laid back informal get together. More of a bowling/billiards/darts/beer/ and then games kinda thing. I think we both kinda thought it would be cool to get together with other gamers and just shoot the shit.(That means hang out, for those of you that don't know)

I'd LOVE to go to something like that!Originally Posted by spoon
I'd also attend Spoon. Or maybe a spring Cedar Point trip? It's fun hanging out in the arcade.
I lived in OHIO for years and yes, the arcade at cedar point is probably the best..............BUT DAMN IS IT HOT!!! Dude It's like an oven in that arcade. Hey I wonder if I know any of you toledo guys..(do any of you happen to work for EB Games?)
C-town, T-town, C-bus, Crakron, the Natti? Count me in! I would like to cast a vote for Toledo, based on the proximity of Tony Paco's
Hey, yeah. I'd be up for an Ohio "Video Gamers Association" meet. In fact, Kid Fenris and I traded PMs a week ago saying that another Cedar point meet would be cool. Although I'd also be up for a meet in a more central (Ohio) location, too, like, say, Columbus. Or Mansfield? Hell, I suppose that I could host a small gathering up in Cleveland, if I give my wife enough warning (so she could get the hell out, most likely ).
And I wonder if we could get enough Steel Battalion sets together to do a big ol' system-link throwdown? That would be something to see!
Anyway, I'll be outside inhaling some more fumes from the burning river.

Was going to keep this low-key until I had something definite ...
I *was* working on a Mansfield meet. Found a nice local park pavillion that's rented for pennies that would've been perfect for an informal swap meet/trade fest/ etc. Had the call in and had the reservations made. Later that week - and MOMENTS before I posted here about it - they called back and questioned the whole "swap meet" thing. Only non-profit events can be held there, as it's a public park. Even if no money was to trade hands, there can be no wheeling-dealing going on. Verbotten.
Been checking on another location just off 71 that may happen. But I'm weeks before I can really pursue it, as I've got some other irons in the fire that are taking up my time. But I think a CP meeting this summer is a no-brainer can-do.

I wanted to state that there may be an informal gathering this spring in the Cleveland area with a bunch of my friends. I'll post info here if I get it. This would likely be a one night gaming/shit shooting, next day thrifting type of event like it has historically been.
These Reproductions available with custom labels via PM with free shipping for DP members:
ATARI 2600: Mazy Match, Cola Invaders (the one I released/made), Meltdown (2600), Kabobber, Stone Age (NTSC), A Misterious Thief (NTSC).
NES(US):Crazy Climber, Mario Adventure, Castlevania C.O.M., Drac's Night Out, Galaxian.
If it wasn't for sarcasm, I'd rather be dead.
A get together would be cool, and if Cinciclassic ever does come back, its well worth a visit. It's by no means a big show, but you can still find a lot of good games there.
Has it really been over a month since I checked this thread? Guess so. Let us know if it comes together (assuming that you want DP fools showing up)!Originally Posted by MattG/Snyper2099

Hey guys, look at the Pinball Petes thread, I know a couple of you came last time, and if any of you feel like making the trip up, you would be more than welcome.
