Default On the VirtualBoy is the American and Japanese Tap the Same?

Will the Super Nintendo AC Adapter (SNS-002) work in the Japenese Tap, and then will the Tap work with an American controller and VB? Thanks in advance!

It won't, because the AC adapters that are made for the Virtual Boy are specialized for that system alone (unless I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to say).

No they're not. They're interchangeable with the SNES AC cord.

Actually, I can't say for sure, but a friend of mine who is into the VB as much as I am (maybe even more) told me that the US tap and the Japanese Tap are different... He said that he sold a Japanese tap and the guy had an SNES AC adapter, and it didn't fit, but I've never looked at it myself. I think I have one in my mountain of VB stuff at home, I'll try to remember to check it out when I get there.

Evidently they are different. I sold a SNES AC Adapter to a guy that bought the Japanese tap on eBay and it doesn't fit--it's too big. I thought maybe the problem was he didn't understand you have to pop open the tap to plug in the adapter, but he did understand that and it doesn't work. Here's one of the Japanese ones on eBay now:

In the auction the seller says you can use the SNS-002, but you can't, so there's a heads up for you VB collectors.
