    Default Game gear problems

My game gear powers on, but the screen, backlight, speakers, and headphone output are all non-working. the red power LED comes on, but nothing else. i suspect it's a problem with the power, not the components themselves. i used fresh new alkaline batteries. can anyone help me?!

Try cleaning the cartridge. Its a cliche, but since I doubt all the part would be broken, and since power is getting to the LED, its the most logical explanation.

Maybe the contrast is way low?

if you turn on the gamegear with no game in there, what happens normally? it could be I have a broken game. unfortunately, i only have one game and no other gamegears to test it with.
