Default Impossible Mission II SEI prototype?

I picked this up at a flea market today for $.50. It has the shell of the normal SEI Impossible Mission II carts, except this one has the words "SAMPLE CARTRIDGE" and "NOT FOR RESALE," as long as "PLEASE RETURN" on the label. These seem to be scotch taped on a white background. The scotch tape isn't peeling yet. This is weird, because I thought that all SEI did was re-release the games, not work on it again....again, truly weird. Give me any info you have.

What's even more weird is that a guy came in here saying that his black and white label was a proto. I just thought it was a damn weird coincidence.

Just because they didn't develop it, doesn't mean they didn't have to make a sample/review cartridge. I wouldn't be surprised if there's just an AVE board inside, open it up and let us know.

Considering that the AVE version was released after the SEI versions, that would not be the case.
