    WHERE HAVE I BEEN?

Alright Seth, now that we've touched base via AIM we can discuss the details. Our CGE mailbox has a few other interested parties who want to play live this year. We've got an outdoor (covered) pavillion at this year's facility, we thought it might be really cool to hold a concert out there. Then you can play as loud as you want.

John and I have been tossing around the idea of having a benefit concert of sorts as well. This might be something where we find a local 80's band who can come out and play and charge a small fee for admission.

The possibilities are endless so let's get talkin'!

Same as it has been for the last few years, Seth. You're our Director of Entertainment. You've done a great job with this over the last few years, there's no reason to change it.

We were thinking about trying something a little different, like getting an 80's band to play a benefit concert. John or I can turn over a long list of bands we'd be interested in - would you be up for coordinating it?

Well, as recently mentioned in our conversation, my "perfect world" would go as follows:

    1. We work together with a charity as we did last year (Special Olympics). I'm pretty sure Special Olympics is on board again this year but I have to confirm.

    2. We contact several 80's-era bands to see if they'd be interested in performing a short set for this benefit. I'm thinking along the lines of Quiet Riot, Survivor, Howard Jones, Men Without Hats, etc. Bands that you associate with the 80's but not necessarily huge bands. DEVO would be a good choice

    3. This show goes for about two hours, and I'd like you to be part of that set, preferably at the end so you can stick around and party with us.

So in a less-than-perfect world, we get just one band to come out. Less perfect than that, Jaime and I sing karaoke themes. So you can see we'd like to get as close to plan A as possible

    A little clearer?

Thomas Dolby would be awesome. I actually saw him live back in the day at The Ritz in NYC. He puts on a great show.

BTW, regarding Men Without Hats: they're still located in Montreal to this day and are still around as a band (their last album released was 2 years ago).

    Their website is http://www.menwithouthats.com/
