True, but it was kind of funny to watch him struggle over that paper plate.Originally Posted by drummy

The commercial is great!
Fear your thoughts because they become your words
Fear your words because they become your actions
Fear your actions because they become your habits
Fear your habits because they become your character
Fear your character because it becomes your destiny
Therefore: Thinking and nurturing positive thoughts, at any point in your life, can change your destiny.
it wouldve been a good idea if it picked things up easier. when he lifted it up at the end, it wasnt that much other than paper and hair. not impressive to me.
I know one of the guys involved in the making of this thing - I'll be sure to pass this erudite suggestion on to him. what do you suggest they use next time? static electricity? thousands of tiny powerful magnets? butter?Originally Posted by NeoSNightmarE
I dunno, I thought it was kinda cool, if just because of the mass confusion it must've caused among the con's army of dress-up inuyashas and narutos. causing distress to cosplay fatties is always fun.
The Japanese PS2 commercials still use the "PLAYSTATION!" thingy?! Thats cool.. they should bring it back here.
I vowed if I ever cosplayed I'd go as the prince and take a huge bouncyball and make it into a katamari. Darn! Someone beat me to it, but he didn't dress up! Weak! ;p
Mwerp.
First time posting. Been reading the forum for over a year. Couldn't resist this topic.
After seeing that video, the brain got-a-storming and I'm planning on doing this for my best friend bachelor party. Big Katamari Damacy fan.
Starting with a beach ball, I will cover it with adhesive coarse side strips of velcro. Might consider a medicine ball for added difficulty. Then I'm going raid garage sales for all the small plush toys and old Barbie dolls I can find (The Barbie dolls to recreate the Virgo stage. After all it will be groom's last chance to pick up women). I'm thinking I will stick velcro strips to the toys as well so it can continue to pickup other object after adhering to the katamari. The groom will get to play relife Katamari Damacy to his favourite tune of the game "Katamari On The Rock". Getting the official soundtrack.
The marriage is in September so I got plenty of time to perfect it.
Ew man what a horribly discusting failure. I really don't see how that could work in real life. Other then a giant magnet and a bunce of metal fileings.Originally Posted by Kaine23

That's great. It may not have worked well but I applaud their effort and gumption
That was... interesting. If suggestions are going to be passed along, here are a few thoughts:
There is a lot of time with him rolling it around and not picking up stuff. The entire amount of stuff that is on it at the end seems to be basically the stuff they picked up right away and one or two more things.
I thought there would have been creative cutting to better stick things to the ball. It could have been rolled into the bottle of water that bounced away originally for instance, and the camera angle could've changed to show it get picked up, which would be when you would actually attach the bottle of water. As you went, you could attach funnier and funnier things (stuft animals, rolling by someone and getting their backpack, and so on. With creative cuts, you wouldn't actually be picking up stuff, but it would be funny to see.
Interesting though. Lots of places to go from here.
