Default Possible CD-i find with questions (need immediate help!)

I hate starting one of these "I'm bragging before buying" threads, but I found about 10 complete Phillips CD-i titles and a controller in a thrift shop. The Zelda game with Zelda herself on the cover was one of them along with Mad Dog Mcree and a casino game. I can't remember all of the names, so I won't try to list them here. This is a thrift that I don't hit regularly, but the owner usually asks about $3 per CD (hopefully, if I refer to it as computer software, she'll knock a few cents off).

Keep in mind that I don't have a CD-i...yet. Are these systems expensive and/or easy to find and should I buy these games right away? They're not in exactly mint condition either (Zelda had a few light scratches on it).
Currently catching up on PSN, WiiWare, Wii U E-Shop and Xbox Live Arcade exclusives I missed.

I'd personally pay 3.00 per disk if the CD-I games were complete. CD-I games generally stink in gameplay though, so keep that in mind.

If you decide that you don't want them, grab me that Zelda one, I'll buy it from you.

Wow! According to the rarity list, that Zelda game is worth around $80. Methinks I'll be purchasing that one, and keeping it!

I think you got the wrong Zelda game.

I believe this is the one you found, 20.00 worth and only an R3. Looks like this...

The 80.00 one is this one...

Offer still stand, if you buy it and it's complete and you don't want it, I will buy it from you.

I would try to get the guy down to about $2 per disc. Fortunately for you the Zelda disc is worth the same price alone as the other 9 games combined so it will be a pretty good deal regardless. Philips CD-i is a system that is on the bottom rung of value. I have to chuckle when I see some guy on ebay charge $10 for 7th Guest or Voyeur. That's like starting an SMB/Duck Hunt NES auction at $5. No one in their right minds would pay that much. Except for maybe about 10-12 rare titles, I wouldn't pay over $3 a disc. If he has any CD-i movies I will by those from you.

I've seen CD-I systems go anywhere from $20-50 depending on what they have and what condition.

Easily obtainable. Only the Zelda's and a few games are worth playing, though. The rest is crap (and some of the playable stuff is borderline crap!)

I would personally talk her down to $2 - $2.50 for any complete games and buy them. But this is coming from the guy who will buy anything complete for $2. Just last week I bought three complete CD-I games for 1.91 each. Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia, Kether, and a sealed copy of A Great Day At the Racees. Don't own a CD-I nor do I ever expect to play them, but they were cheap and I'll buy anything cheap.

Thanks for your help, guys. I will be keeping the titles I found, though. I didn't worry too much about the price. When I finally a CD-i, I'll be able to start with a pretty decent library...

CD-I is fun to tinker with. I have some dev gear for it.

I mainly collect it for the hardware, because it's like the coolest hardware ever created, for anything.

I kept one of those IVO-V11s for myself (rest are still for sale), I've got the three-piece system with the CD drive, the multimedia controller, and the dual-floppy bay, blah blah blah. I don't play much of em often, but DAMN do they look neat sitting there.

I actually don't own any of the Zeldas OR Hotel Mario, I need to get on that eventually.

Hotel Mario would actually be pretty fun... if you had a controller to use with it.

I'm not sure if you ment singular or plural in that sentence, but only Zelda's Adventure is worth playing. The other two Zeldas are just as bad as everyone makes them out to be.

They're just your below average platformers, with monsters that spawn out of nowhere and the cutscenes that could have been scribbled by 8 year olds.

Go for it. You'll find a system trust me.
They're right though the system has one of the poorest libraries of all time. The Zeldas are fun along with a couple of other games, the FMV games such as Mad Dog Mcree are really of little use without a gun, keep that in mind. Say was a game called Burn Cycle part of the list? That one is a definite purchase.
