Try checking ebay i picked up a brand new boxed dex drive for $12.
I have all my valuable saves like, rakuga kids, goemon mononoke sugoroku & wonder project J2 backed up safe on my pc.
It's really worth getting its a great tool.
I've seen instructions for making homebrew PSX "DexDrives" from PC floppy cables; perhaps someone has modified them for use with N64 cards?

Is it possible to use a Dex drive to back up your saves directly from a Gamepak that doesn't have controller pak functionality?
