Now my response is "All the time!"
I still buy games but they have to have SUPREME value. There is no way that i'll pay over $20 fro a game unless it's rare and is a good game. Or something like that.
I rented a lot of games through the 8 and 16 bit era. Up until last year when I finally caved and bought it, I'd rent Mario Party 2 every time I came home so my high school friends and I could play it. I'm suspicious of renting disc-based games, however, because they can get scratched so easily. Strange that I think that, though, since I'm a Netflix subscriber. I usually rent stuff that doesn't see a lot of circulation, through, and almost all the discs come to me in pristine condition
I haven't rented since Diablo first came out on the PS because I wanted to compare it to the PC versions (PS > PC for this game). That was in '98 I believe.
As for a store though, if you're still checking out this thread, let customers know that they can always trade games back in and get a % of their money back.

The last game I rented was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for my Sega Dreamcast.
So, no - not anymore.
I never rent anything too..
at first i'm only interested in old games (also because of the price), and its hard to rent them
and I always think, well I could rent a game for 5€, but I can also buy some other for 5€ and add it to my collection. So I'm only buying games
No. I haven't in years. The last time time I rented was in 1996.
All the time man, All the time.
whenever the a bunch of new games that come out, instead of shelling a huge amount of cash, just spend 8$per rental, and blockbuster got that no late fees policy,
so I usually beat the game on the rental. very convienent.
I see a lot of people renting from Blockbuster and other major rental stores, anyone buy from indie game stores and sell back when they're done so they aren't limited to X days to play? You can sometimes end up with more gameplay and spending less and you're helping out the little guy.
Also, how many people have rental stores that still rent out older game systems? There is a indie rental store up the road with not a wide selection of movies because they aren't a chain, same with their new games but they do rent out things from the NES/SMS era and up, but it's not worth it since most of the games are worth less than the rental fee. :P

There are other ways to rent games, You know. You don't have to rent from local stores; Those are ripoffs.Originally Posted by cyberfluxor
