Sim City for the SNES is still a really great game.

    Anyone else agree?

Yes, it was a great first generation SNES title. I liked the "good night" theme.

simcity for snes, imo, would b e BETTER than the pc version if only it supported hte mouse. As it is, I rate it better anyway. There's no bowser on pc!

That game kicked so much ass back in the day. Still does. I love the music for each "level" of your city.

Really, in my opinion, the SNES had the best launch of any console, ever. This was one of the best of the buch. I really don't think there was a bad SNES game until after about 8 months or a year when all the sports games (not Super Tennis though) started hitting the market.

As far as SimCity goes, though, it's the finest port of probably the best strategy game ever devised. The music is awesome, the colors are bright, and the game just plays phenomenally. I was playing it last year and having a blast.

Some of my favorite music is from sim city. I could chill all day with those songs playing AND have great memories while doing so

Man, I loved Sim City....It's not too simple and not too complex---the perfect balance. After that one all the sim games starting getting too deep for me.

Exactly. It was great to not have to try and figure out how to get water to everyone.

But the newer ones did have some pluses. Mountains in 2000 and automatic power lines in the later ones. Still, the original is great for a simple God game.

I have to agree Graham - some of the best SNES titles were released in 1991 -Actraiser, Super Mario World, Castlevania IV, etc. F-Zero and Pilotwings were decent launch titles as well.

Soyo Oka wrote the music for this port of SimCity - I think he worked on Super Mario Kart and Pilotwings as well.

I remember reaching Megalopolis for the 1st time... I think I still have it on my copy of SimCity. I also beat all the Scenarios, and have Free Land unlocked. I still prefer landmass #62, though...

Excellent game. I like it more than any of PC versions.
