The human operates out of complex superiority demands, self -affirming through ritual, insiting upon a rational need to learn, striving for self-imposed goals, manipulating his environment while he denies his own adaptive abilities, never fully satisfied.

A few years ago, there was a group that was going to do a touring consumer videogame show (I forget the name now). They even got a booth at E-3 to promote it. When I asked the E-3 people what their thoughts were, they said "If the game companies wanted to do a consumer show, don't you think they would come to us to do it?"Originally Posted by stonic
Makes sense.
Unfortunately, I don't see any of the shows out there getting anything more than minor support from the big game companies.

Digital Life is a consumer show and while a few big companies like MIcrosoft, Sega, Namco, and Nintendo support it it's nothing compared to E3. So I guess there already is a huge consumer show in the east.
That said I hope this show is fun. I live 5 minutes outside NYC and i'm coming down saturday. It's a shame that they want to go so big. PC5 was my first PC show and i thought it was fun as hell. Lots of arcade cabs, games to buy, and good people. I hope they don't fuck it up. Perhaps next year they'll get rid of NBC.
I really don't want a show aimed towards causals.

i dont care what it has as long as it has classic gameing stuff - in large quanities

Wow, cool I, Robot. Been playing that on MAME quite a bit lately. Tempest is always sweet and it's cool that Gorf will be there too. People can compare it to the Jag version in development

4 days left.
Can't wait!
It doesn't get any more serious than a Rhinocerus about to charge your ass.
I will be there, I will have a nametag perhaps?

As long as there is a gamestop inside with DC games like PC 5 I will be happy!
Anyone selling model 2 saturns for cheap?
I've got 2 Model 1's, and 2 Model 2's - all in great condition. I forget which model is which, but one of the ones with the 'round buttons' has a mod chip in it.Originally Posted by muffinman943
I also have 4 broken Saturns that need some help.
Shoot me a PM if you're interested. I'll have a table at the show.
I'll be there also.
I'm at the Jersey Shore, so you figure like an hour drive. Worth it to play arcade games, even if i fear the worst from this show.

Tholly, good stuff doesn't even begin to describe what I am bringing this year. Imagine what you saw last year. Then double it. I'm not kidding. I brought less than 10 systems last year, I have over 30 I am bringing this year. Hundreds of carts, good stuff to fill your collection, or begin a new collection with a great starter set. Everyone on DP needs to stop by my table and introduce themselves. I can't stress that enough. See everyone this weekend!Originally Posted by tholly
