Finally got a Master System, what games should I snag?

I finally got a Sega Master System. I never owned one orginally, but this is the first video game system to feature RGB output, so I figured for that reason alone I should grab one.

The games that I have are:

Out Run
Zillion
Ghostbusters
Hang On/ Safari Hunt
After Burner
Space Harrier
Kenseiden
Shanghai


I haven't actually fired the thing up yet and played any of those games yet, so I can't comment on any of them. But basically, I was wondering what are the must have Master System games for somebody testing the Master System waters? I favorite genre's are platformers, action/adventure and shooters.


Man, the Master System controllers are super small. My 4 year old will like them!

I also got that Light Phaser gun, I'm guessing it works with Safari Hunt. Any other games I should get for the Light Phaser gun?

Anyways, I'm glad to finally snag a Master System, and once I'm done cleaning everything I'll fire it up and check it out.

Try to track down all of the Alex Kidd titles.

You should look out Sonic the Hedgehog and Phantasy Star. Both are kinda rare, but you can import them for super-cheap [no regional lockouts] Sonic was actually a pack-in-game in the UK.

If you want, I'm going to the UK tomorrow and I can get you a copy for cheap.

only played "Shooting Gallery" & "Space Gun"

Both worked well with the gun but Space Gun was a little slow moving and a little easy. Shooting Gallery was a fair bit more fun but does get hard really all of a sudden takes a while to learn the patterns on the ball shooting stages. Can't say how long they'd keep you interest but if you have the Phaser worth a look.
