Spartacus, your reviews rule! I have been super strapped for cash lately and can't afford to buy much.
Man, I've been missing my import fix...I'll get around to some reveiw soon!

I assume when most people think of imports they think of "Japan." But my last batch of games came from the UK. I recently got Sorcery, Super Ted, Galletron, Rogue Trooper, Zub, Chimera, and Storm for the Amstrad CPC, and Astro Plumber, Roboto, Jet Power Jack, Bumble Bee, and Stormcycle for the Acorn Electron.
So far I've only played Bumble Bee and Stormcycle. Bumble Bee is a Ladybug clone, and Stormcycle is a pretty simple platforming game. Stormcycle isn't that good, but Bumble Bee is okay. The main difference between it and Ladybug is that there are no special items to collect and the enemy bugs seem to be more aware of you than roaming around randomly like in Ladybug.
Thanks for explaining about those Oretachi Geasen Zoku Sono games KJN. I was wondering why they released singles of old arcade games and not put them all in a compilation. Never knew about all the stuff that came with each game. Konami Arcade Classics for the PS1 has Time Pilot on it and that's how I got to play it. Classic game!Originally Posted by KJN

Thank you, drwily008! It's been a great for me too because I often fall into the habit of just expending all of my time towards finding games and never giving them any more play time than just a quick test to see that they work. Sitting myself down to give a short review on these imports has had me playing games more than I probably would have otherwise. And that's what it's supposed to be all about. I've been having a ball lately!Originally Posted by drwily008
I often go LONG spells where I don't have the money for imports. I don't have them budgeted, so whenever the overtime picks up I try to do the best I can to give myself an import fix.
Thanks for the heads-up, KJN!
My addition today was Midnight Resistance, Mega Drive. Got it from dojar, and it's in perfect shape just as advertised. Only problem was it was sent in a bubble mailer so the clamshell case was collapsed inwards. Didn't seem to damage the case, though it would be nice if it'd been sent in a box...
some old stuff and some new...
(Anyone know what that GB memory cart is for?)
(my 2nd Saturn FDD)
(3DO Flight Stick brand new in box)
(JPN Xbox Grand Thef Auto Double Pack promo pack inc. OST CD sealed, Demo DVD disc, big poster not shown, small poster and pop-up)
(my 2nd Sanyo TRY 3DO console for next to nothing)
Newest stuff:
Some flyers from GaijinPunch (!! AWESOME) / import copy of Biohazard (GC remake, great stuff inside IMO - you know, a 59 block memory card and a sticker sheet to let you put stickers on two more). I think I got my FM Towns Galaxy Force II the same day. Much older than Viewpoint, it turns out - this was almost a release game for the FM Towns, but (disregarding the smooth plastic of the shrinking type) it's in better shape). Box is a bit smaller all around, too.
You know what that means? That means Ed has a Galaxy Force II soundtrack for his car, hallelujah! (I'll make a copy of it with Alcohol 120%)
Comming in the mail is Soukyuu Gurentai for the Saturn. This is one of the best shmups for the Saturn, and one of the best from Raizing.
Comes with everything except Spine Card, which I don't care at all.
how much are you finding those Saturn FDDs for? I really need oneOriginally Posted by dj898
Sadly, my next import won't be until the end of march when my little order from Play-Asia comes in. Under Defeat and Radirgy, hell yea! (and of course I forgot to order Ibara, son of a bitch )
this second one which is complete mint cost me U$95 while the first one cost me close to U$70 few years back - it was missing DC adaptor so I haggled the price down a bit...
really it's not much of use unless you play PDS and save at every single stage or something or creating shooting game with dezaemon(?). :P
Famicom
The Goonies CIB

I just got my copy of DJ Max Portable yesterday. If you have a PSP and are a fan of music games, then you've got no excuse not to order this. My only complaints are that the song result screen looks like it was made in about 10 minutes with MS Paint, and the loading times are a little bit harsh (though no worse than the older arcade versions of Pump it Up). The music is excellent, and it's got over 50 songs. The difficulty ranges from positively boring to absolutely horrifying, so there's plenty to cut your teeth on.
My most recent imports were from May '05... I ordered Touch!Kirby and Electroplankton, as well as a Nintendogs stylus shell. The stylus:
Thanks it is a damn good shooter that's for sure.Originally Posted by Lord Contaminous
