I laughed pretty hard when I saw it. Congrats to DB for the pub.
Apologies is this is a double post--a search didn't turn up anything.

Haha, so which one of us is the "idiot?"
yeah I saw that too. This is the second item from the contest to get printed in a magazine. I think the other was the Nintendo DS home console (N64)
I'm pretty sure it was dangerboy: look here:Originally Posted by Ed Oscuro

I'm pretty sure that I won the auction, if that's what the "idiot" is referring toOriginally Posted by Ed Oscuro

I'm not sure who the bigger "idiot" is here, the buyer or the magazine that got suckered into thinking this was a real auction.Originally Posted by Oobgarm
Yeah thatt's what I was thinking. You'd figure that since the people at EGM are in the game journalism biz, someone there would be checking DP reguarly to see what's going on, and would have found out about the contest. And you know they know of DP because it's been in their mag.Originally Posted by esquire
Or maybe they did know and just felt like printing something funny, which is cool.
That was Dangerboy! Cool.
Here is the original auction page with all of the others who played along:

I gotta say that Dangerboy's Crystal Pepsi game auction was simply brilliant! And I suppose that the EGM people figured out (or knew) that it was a joke auction, yet thought that the bidding winner was serious about it.
(and tell us, Querjek: does the game work well at all? How about the "crystal pendant"? :P )
Querjek was the winner, but DB cancelled the auction so no one actually won it in the end.
It just shows that EGM didn't really look all that hard at the auction. I mean come on now. the development team is 'Dangerboy's Imagination' and it was Published by 'StuBoy productions'.....not to mention about 12 other things..... I personally like the fact that they didnt even read all of the auction and see in the print at the bottom (like so many buyers who buy before looking at everything)
I cant wait for DB's email to EGM and their response back...Originally Posted by Dangerboy

I do need to write them an e-mail.
