It's a GREAT company with reliable fast shipping and great prices. I have bought alot of great games and systems from them. They are usually MINT or Near Mint.

    Good stuff!

EMS shipping is expensive as hell, but its fast.

I bought a used DC system, spent $70, not something I'm willing or able to loose. (usually my first purchase is tiny, just in case).

Good service, pretty fast, and I like their web site.

    Quick question for you all,

What exactly is EMS shipping? I know that it's expensive and fast, but is it pretty much the way to ship items from Japan? Does JapanGameStock give you a choice to ship another way? If so, is that not a recommended thing to do? And when a game arrives that is shipped by EMS, do you have to be there to sign for it?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, but I've been very tempted to buy from these guys, and I was just curious about the things above.

    Thanks!

EMS is express mail, 2-3 days with insurance and tracking.

I tend to use EMS most of the time, but for $20 or less I'd use airmail. I have never had a problem with airmail for 20 or so transactions. If you are in the US you'll have to sign for it or take the slip they leave to the PO.

It's about $12 for one CD shipped via EMS or $6 airmail.

If I remember correctly, airmail is sometimes referred to as SAL. If correct (can someone confirm?), you might look for a SAL option, and not worry about it being slow like surface mail can be.

    Thanks for the information!

Funk Buddy, you mention that airmail would be recommended for purchases $20 and below ... is this because airmail is sketchy as is and $20 isn't that big of a loss? If so, what exactly makes airmail so sketchy, just the fact that it isn't insured? Just curious, thanks again!

actually, airmail from japan ranges from 4-10 days (average of 4-5 for me in nyc). it's great for one or a few less expensive games sent via padded envelope. you'll DEFINITELY want ems for consoles, expensive games or anything bulk. speaking of bulk, try to buy enough stuff to justify the cost, lol. paying $12 EMS for one game is insane, but paying $18-$21 for a bunch of stuff you bought cheap makes up for it in terms of how fast it arrives.

some people bitch their hair off about paying for EMS on cheap games, but look at it this way. when that new saturn game you got for $3 was released, it cost 5800 yen (about $58-$60 or so). if you get 5 or 6 games at that price and have to pay $18 for EMS, it's still a bargain in a way...

it depends on what country it's going to. i think most parcel airmail goes through some sort of screening process enroute without opening the package. but check with your post office where you are (spain?) and see what's what.

Wow... sorry I missed this. SAL is not the same as Airmail, SAL is surface.

In the US it depends on the state you live in and how it's shipped (in my experience). If it comes from the post office you don't have to worry. If it's UPS or FedEx you may, again depending on your states laws and the value of the package.

Not true. SAL stands for "Surface Air Lift", and basically, it's sent by air-mail from Japan, and then by surface within your own country. Kind of a half-way house, but MUCH faster than sea-mail surface shipping.
