Impressive graphics. But if the gameplay for these games (and the controller) is crap, then it'll be a moot point.
My Gaming Collection (Now at Google Drive!)
Genres are genres... they come and go until a new genre is developed (or an old one revived) and then that "new" genre becomes the new darling of developers.
Now, if only this higher image resolution means that we're finally going to see pro sports figures who look like their real-life counterpart...
Let's see:
Metal Gear 4
DMC 4
Killzone 2
Gran Turismo 5
Red Dead Revolver 2
Fight Night 3
Tekken 6
Anyone seeing a pattern here?
Well other than the fact that they are all sequels, what im hoping happens is that the ps3 has alot more original games than sequels but the first wave of sequels might be decent. we will see also sounds like new gta coming out as well as a launch title for the ps3

you know all these screens look great and very high res. but im wondering how big of a difference theres gonna be between hdtv and non hd sets. i hope these graphics translate well in normal sets since the majority of the public hasnt switced to hd or cant afford it.....
the hd factor seems to be the defining trait of the next gen consoles. graphic style has remained the same for the most part everythings just a higher resolution.

One more # 6 and then we'll have a great pattern!
Are you seriously doubting that there will be a lack of original content on the PS3?
Everyone and their damned mother will be developing for this system, it'll come eventually. Think of all the cool never-done-before stuff for PS2. Can't think of any?
-Way of the Samurai
-Mad Maestro
-Mr Mosquito
-Katamary Damacy
I could go on forever
But those aren't launch titles, launch titles need to be SAFE BETS, and that's what these sequels are. The original, unique, neat stuff will be along shortly, I'm sure.
Not to mention that Sony has become THE RPG headquarters. Damn near every RPG worth playing will end up on the system, most will be exclusive.

See, sequels sell systems, people will line up and buy the PS3 in DROVES for a new Metal Gear, DMC & Gran Turismo. Gotta push em out, then the original titles start coming.
Are these in-game screens?
Those shots are nice, but to me the real way to show off the hardware is with screenshots, and those appear to be FMV movies, which of course are gonna look good.
