Hi,
I have a Jamma board and it is missing its first two gold connectors (jamma edge connector), they look they they have just been rubbed off from removing it from the cab. Is there any way to fix this or is my board screwed?

can you post a picture?
(I think I know what you are refering to)
Use a contact cleaner/conditioner like ProGold, or simply retin the contact with solder. Either method is a 60 second process.

thats what I was thinking, but I wanted to see it first...Originally Posted by chadtower
if its actualy missing the contacts - i would try cleaning the bare area with a good solvent and then redraw the contacts using a conductive trace pen and solder
or wire a connector to the board
A conductive pen wouldn't make a trace strong enough to stand up to very many connect/disconnects.

yea but it should last for one plug in
with a board like that - i would fix it in such a way that after the connections are made that the edge connector never gets touched again -- like fixing a connector on to the board
That's kind of dumb and defeats the whole point of JAMMA, especially when either a re-tinning or using the contact cleaning solution is both very fast and no more expensive than a conductive pen. The cleaning solution doesn't even require soldering skills, it's no harder than applying liquid paper.Originally Posted by googlefest1
