Here's another thread focusing on obscure aspects of PlayStation longbox packaging. (Just in case you didn't get enough in the longbox foam topic.)
How did publishers deal with multiple discs in longbox packaging? I ask because I received a Braindead 13 yesterday. It came in a cardboard longbox, with the manual, and with the foam. (w00t!) Disc 1 was held on the longbox's integrated spindle. Disc 2, however, was contained in a paper slipcover with a round cellophane-type plastic window, like the kind of cover that most computer games come in these days.
So, is my Braindead 13 less than complete? I know that some of the plastic (Saturn-style) longbox multidisc games included an extra plastic insert with a spindle to hold the second disc (although I can't recall whether those were Saturn or PlayStation games--I'll check my longbox collection when I get home). This critical piece of longdong collecting minutia must be clarified!
(And what the heck--let's figure it out for Saturn, Sega CD, and the rest, too.)
