i was wondering as to the opening cut-scene with the cheesy b-actors. is it dubbed or subtitled? i'm assuming all the gory parts that were never inserted into our bullshit director's cut are in there, and chris smoking, eh?

Oh, crap. I do, only it's the Saturn version and I have no Japanese Saturn...guess I'll try Giri Giri or whatever and see if I can get you an answer. Of course I bet somebody else will beat me, that's fine too :P

I think RE4 has rekindled everyones interest in the RE series - and rightly so! I love reading about the game more than I enjoy playing it! x_x

It's not so much that it's rekindled interest in RE as much as it's brought a massive amount of new players into the game, myself included. RE4 was the first re game i played. One week later i had bought, REmake, RE0, RE: Dead-aim, RE CVX and now i'm working on getting gc copies of 2,3 and CVX as well as DC versions. Not to mention that i've read the entire RE plot analysis on gamefaqs.Originally Posted by THATinkjar
RE4 is responsible for my RE love, although i must admit i like the originals better then 4, simply because they felt more scary to me. Still They're all amazing (though highly repetative, come on just once don't end the game with a self destruct going off).
Anyways the gore and smoking is there, but i don't know about the sub-totles or over dub. Good question.
I have Biohazard.
Anyways, there are subtitles in the intro movie (and everywhere there's any sort of cutscene, truth be told). There's also different end credit music (by some actual Japanese band, apparently).
You also should know about the Kenneth cutscene-before the zombie looks at you, Kenneth's head drops to the floor!
All of the Jap biohazard games have got english voices and Japanese subs
RE as a series is one of the best, but i hate the spin offs (ala Dead Aim, Outbreak). I went all the way back to RE: Directors Cut for the PS1 and man i love this game. RE3 was hard as hell on the PSone and took me the longest to beat. This is the only series that my girlfriend likes (i got here hooked on Fatal Frame though) and now she wants me to find all the RE's for GC because i got her a GC for christmas.
My question is, when will RE end.....when will they decide its time to let the series die? I mean i love it but lord knows we don't need RE to end up like Final Fantasy with 13+ installments. You can only milk a series for so long and the Outbreak series needs some tuning. The House of the Dead style was a nice idea but seriously flawed. RE4 is taking it to a whole new level and shows us that capcom can be innovative.
