I'm not familiar with their stuff, but this does sound like a pretty neat famiclone. When you say "optional wireless," does that mean the controllers can be used with a cord as well? (I ask because wireless stuff hates me with a passion. )

wow that is really cool,i will get one almost for sure
S-video output is available on the Sharp Famicom Titler and it looks amazing. Unfortunately, the TItler is the rarest consumer famicom system.Originally Posted by TheRedEye
I don't think it is impossible for the clones, but I think they are going for the cheapest pricepoint possible. If they add s-video it is going to add to the price. I hope they add a second version with S-video output cause I think it would be worth the premium.
There is no adapter needed to play japanese soft. There are two cartridge ports. One for the US games and the other for international carts.Originally Posted by BIGMIKE

There is built in wireless in the console so you dont need a receiver with your wireless controllers. There are also two controller ports like the original so you can used wired controllers as well.Originally Posted by Cthulhu

Wow.
I've got a couple of Famicom-releated questions, though:
1) Will this system be compatible with the Disk System FM and Konami's custon sound chips? It's my understanding that Famiclones tend to choke on these issues in particular.
2) Will you guys be thinking about making a Famicom accessory port-to-NES controller 2 port converter?
I have one question. Only one, big question. IS IT LEGAL? If it's not, then I could see Messiah getting sued out of business. If it is, an uses a good cartridge slot... No more cartridge cleaning...

There's nothing illegal by producing a NES clone, that's why. There's nothing protected by patents that they need to secure a license from Nintendo to produce here, and these devices have been common for several years.
Nintendo is only going after NES clones that come with built in NES titles that are still protected. I don't need to be told this by Messiah. A little bit of research on your part could've answered your question.
Messiah,
Amazing looking product!!! I wish however that you would up the price a bit and include 2 wireless controllers. Since the main upgrade on this is the fact that uses wireless controllers, and not normal ones like a regular NES.
BIGMIKE, also wanted to say if the carts you found are super famicom/super nintendo, no adaptor is needed. In your SNES there are two tabs where you insert the cart, just file them off or burn them off with a soldering iron. Then you can actually insert the super famicom carts in a snes. I did that with one of my snes.
This generation nex is very nice. Personally I might wait for a price drop since I have good nes toasters that still work fine. I also have a nes toploader I got for a $ 27 us ebay buy it now, from a non collector and I snagged it within half hour of auction start. But I don't even use my toploader yet, so Ican wait for price drops on this eventually.
Even though it may be a long time for me to get one, I think this is great for the hobby, and those of you without good working nes machines get oet one and enjoy a great library of nes games !
Game on
Looks pretty interesting. Since my NES is built into my TV (Sharp combo ) I doubt I'll be picking one up... but it is interesting.
Can anyone tell me more about the NES controllers? I have wanted to pick some of these up for a while (I like supporting new hardware for old consoles... hell, making Jaguar hardware was how I got started collecting and involved with the GOAT Store) but every time I look at them I don't understand what the hell the D-pad is and if the select / start buttons are membrane or not.
We just moved into our new house yesterday, and it means my TV is ALL the way across my bedroom. The Messiah wireless controllers sound like a great option (I do have an infared controller somewhere too though) but I'd like to hear more about them and see detailed pictures...
Anyone?
Also, will the console come with two wireless controllers, or are the receivers only built in so that if / when they upgrade to Messiah controllers, it'll be ready?

I agree, I have no reason to replace my NES until someone makes a clone with S-video output.Originally Posted by 16-bit
Man thats cool hope nintendo can hear this.
You gots to get these guys a Licence and get this thing into the Retail Channels.
Why do they need a license? The hardware patents are expired, they're free and clear.Originally Posted by Gamemaster_ca_2003
While i am looking forward to the wireless Genesis controllers i really am looking forward to this.
Wireless possibility, slots for both NES & Famicom carts, ability to use regular NES controllers. This really is the "Nintendo Revolution".
Makes me sad i got my Neo Fami not that long ago :/
Possibility is infinity! You must be satisfied!
