I was cleaning my SNES carts today and noticed that my Mega Man X doesn't have a sticker on the back, instead the letters are embedded on the cart, and instead of "made in japan" like all my other games say, it says instead "assembled in mexico"

Is it a Majestco re-release?
I dont think so, it looks like an original, it doesn't say majestco anywhere, capcom logo of course.
Majesco re-releases have all the features you talked about. Made in mexico and the info stamped in the back.
My Mega Man X has the label on the back and says made in Japan but my Star Wars games (Star Wars, ESB, ROTJ) all have the label on the back but say made in Mexico. Also I just noticed that Star Wars and ROTJ both have Super in front of the title but ESB has no title on the front. Can anyone explain that to me?
That is definately a Majesco re-release. They use a cheaper plastic, non glossy front label and either a dull back label or an engraving on the back. They also almost always say "assembled in Mexico"
Does this lower the value of the game itself? Or raise it?
Doesn't really lower or raise it, unless you are able to sell it to someone who collects Mega Man label variations. You might be able to eBay for more with it with OMG!!11! RAREone!!!!eleventy-one!!11!
