I think i should do something about it...

Of course you all realize that proper DP etiquette requires that you defer bidding on this item because I got screwed on the last one.
$399, someone asked about it.Originally Posted by Drexel923
That's pretty hilarious that the seller is including the instructions for the regular Donkey Kong Country. I got a good laugh out of that.

You should email the guy who refused to sell you his cart, and say "Thanks for being an asshole and backing out on the auction I won, now I can give my money to someone else who wants it, and will sell me a better copy than your piece of shit. Your greed saved me $250+. Thanks, and enjoy your copy you turd!"Originally Posted by Nes
I think I will wait until the auction is over before I say something like that.
Thanks for deferring to me. (not)
Two weeks in a row I've been screwed out of the cart. Everyone seemed so willing to defer on the 6 in 1 cart for someone. How about giving nice old me a chance next time on the DKC cart?
Sorry, but this might be the most ridiculous request I've ever seen. Why would someone defer this auction to you? Not sure exactly who defered the 6 in 1 cart, but I'm sure they only did it cause they knew they didn't have enough money themselves to win. Your not the only person who wanted this thing and has been waiting forever to get it.Originally Posted by Nes
Read the post on the 6 in 1 and you will find several people who willing deferred to another member on this forum.
No need to get so pissy. I was only halfway serious.
The Myriad situation was because 1) a DPer only needs *1* cart for his NES collection (Myriad) and 2) the people who deferred have known him for a long time. And he didn't end up winning the auction anyway.
There are other collector on Ebay who arent DP members of course. So if someone here isnt bidding it doesnt mean it will be sold for less.Originally Posted by Nes
Ebay sucks the big one. Some guy named Percival has decided that there is not enough information to pursue the matter any further. Even though I provided him the email and header where that prick states my only chance to buy it is to pay $450. What more proof could I have possibly provided that he is a scammer?
shit..i cant read italian
WTF(flying)F? Some guy named get this "ROVER" handled my dispute last time. At least it turned about better but c'mon what's with using a rediculous pseudoname.Originally Posted by Nes

That sucks that you are getting screwed out of this. I am sure that another one will come up within the next few months though, they aren't THAT rare.
On the topic of people deferring to you. There really isn't any point, mainly because even if every person on DP didn't bid, it will still go for what it is worth. There are TONS of collectors that don't visit this site (or even know about it), so this game will almost always sell for what it's worth, no matter what.
The main reason why people were going to let Darth Vader win the Myriad 6 in 1 is because this is the LAST NES game he needs. Also because they didn't want to jack up the price on him for no reason at all. I always thought if you aren't going to win the auction, why make the high bidder pay more (if you know him/her). I didn't bid on a Caltron 6 in 1 last year, because Captain Nintendo was the high bidder. I knew he wanted/needed it much more than I did, and I probabley wouldn't have broken his high bid anyway.
Exactly as imanerd0011 has said.
If you are bidding and plan to/know you will win then go for it. If you are bidding with a hope that it may go low, you essentially will cause a comrade to pay more. In this case, everyone knows about it, so bid to win as there is no hope to get it cheap.
Now if it were listed poorly or in the wrong area of ebay, it would be poor ettiquette to announce it to DP if you knew a DPer was watching/bidding on it. In that case, wait until the auction has ended and celebrate a great deal.
