Default Anyone know any PC exclusive fighters?

So i was sitting back playing One Must Fall 2097 the other day and i got to thinking, are there any other good PC exclusive fighters?

Right now the only two i can think of are OMF 2097 (amazing game) and OMF: Battlegrounds (which sucks compared to 2097).

Do you only want recent titles?

If not, Tongue of the Fatman was an enjoyable game.

Irony? maybe. I just picked up OMF at a garage sale last week after playing the shareware version to death as a kid (getting all the way up to the max amount of $ in only the first tournament section that it allowed). This game still, to this day, is one of the coolest fighters ever made. It's not particualrly deep gameplay wise, but it's level-up system is so well implemented, it makes the game.

People, if you've never played OMF, you need to, and it worked fine on my P III desktop running Windows 98. No sound or gameplay problems at all.

There's the japanese import Melty Blood, which is based off the.... Tsukihime (I think) Series.

There's also an anime based off of the games, Although I can't remember the name. I know it starts with Lunar.

    EDIT - Lunar Legend.

Oh, and the game is actually pretty good. Fast paced and combo based

Heh.. I loved Tongue of the Fatman back in the day. It was slow and sluggish, but quite unique for the time. Wasn't it basically released for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive as Fatman/Slaughtersport? I didn't think it was exclusive to the PC.

If you want to go back (way back) you can get FX FIGHTER for the PC.

It's got a facinating history... it was supposed to be a SNES game that used an advanced FX2 chip to do rudamentary polygon graphics, a la Virtua Figher 1. It was cancelled because it looked like ASS. I saw it in motion once at a TRU along with Comanche, another FX-powered SNES game that just couldn't cut the mustard graphically.

It was instead made for the PC.

I second that. Everyone go to The Home of the underdogs and get it.

Wasn't there one called Net Fighter, or something like that? It was part of things network (always advertised in EGM/Gamepro in 32-bit era) where people fought online for points and prizes and stuff? Ad had the #1 and #2 (fictional) fighters, and their alter egos?

    This sound familiar to anyone?

I can think of 2/3 others that I enjoyed way back when:

    - Sango Fighter and Sango Fighter 2 (though apparently the original is available on the Super A'Can console).

    - Savage Warriors (I think this was by Mindscape?)

I own FX Fighter, which was a pretty fine 3D Fighter for its time. It's very buggy, however.

You might want to track down a Mortal Kombat klone kalled EXPECT NO MERCY, which is based off of an obscure B-Movie and, as far as I know, was never ported beyond the PC. EXPECT NO MERCY features some of the goriest box art that I've ever seen (The cover actually has a large sticker to disclaim customers as to how extremely graphic the box art is).

Indeed, the full version of OMF is freeware now. I was trying it not too long ago (it's a good thing it has built-in speed throttling), but soon discovered that it's darn near impossible to accurately pull off circular motions with a keyboard.

Anyway, Xenophage comes to mind. Oh, and Rise 2: Resurrection (the sequel to Rise of the Robots).

What the heck is a Super A'Can?

But... Didn't the Rise of the Robots games SUCK? (My question is serious, for I've never played ROTR, but have only heard terrible reviews of those games)

Rise 2 did smell. It came out for consoles, too. At least PSone & Saturn.
