Default Running Xbox on monitor with composite cables?

I think I saw a thread previously where someone was talking about running an Xbox to your computer monitor using composite cables. Is this possible or do you need a VGA box?
Currently catching up on PSN, WiiWare, Wii U E-Shop and Xbox Live Arcade exclusives I missed.

While possiblr with adaptors or moding, I do not see the point of this as it may just be cheaper and easier to get a VGA adaptor, and using a composite conection through adaptors onto a computer monitor will not really increase your picture quality at all. If you are considering hooking a XBOX up to a computer monnitor, please just get the VGA adaptor!
