Default Personal Grail Found in Wild: Suikoden II

After 6 long years of serching I am finally the proud owner of Suiko II thanks to a friend who spotted it for me at an EB Games near his work.

It set me back $40.95 and it's missing the manual, but I think I got a good deal.

BTW: if anyone has a spare manual they're willing to part with let me know

    Nice find!

I came across one quite some time ago at a local music store chain known in Phoenix as ZIA RECORDS. It was complete and in great shape for $7.99. If I recall correctly, I sold it the same afternoon BIN on ebay for about $80 or $90. I really wanted to give it a try before passing it on but didn't have a PS at the time.

Great Find! Definatley a very expensive game, as far as buying on Ebay goes.

On a side not, has anyone else realized that this game must be the most unrare game for how much it goes for. There is almost always at least 15 copies of it on Ebay, and they usually sell in the $80-125 range, depending on its condition.
I don't think there is a game with such a high price tag, that shows up even near that often.
    Anyone agree?

You're pretty lucky, but when I got my Suiko 2 it was just pure luck. I found it in a pawn store, $15 NZ [which comes to around $10 US]. It was an exrental, but still had the case/manual and worked fine. 1 of my best buys ever. It was PAL by the way, which I think got a smaller release than US NTSC?

Congrats, man! It's nice finding grails in the wild. I found a nice copy a bout 2 years ago at EB, piad about $40 I think, sold it for $110 on E-pay.

This leads me to one of my best finds ever... about 4 years ago, I found Suiko 2 SEALED at a damn Target on one of the endcaps for less than $5. Still have it, sealed with the pricetag. I remember it because I hardly ever find anything in the wild cheap.

    Congrats again!

Heh, at one point in time I had three copies of this game. One I got for $5 at a flea market, another I traded an old box of magic cards for and the last one I got complete for $24.

I sold the two disc only copies on here for $60... shoulda held out, probably could've got $80 with current ebay prices.

    Nice find.

Back when I wasn't yet collecting for Playstation and thus didn't know its value, a local used Music/Movie/Game store here had both Suikoden 1 and 2 complete. 2 was only going for $40, but not knowing its value I passed it up. It was gone the next time I went in there.

The best I've found since then is a disc-only version (which, for $45 I declined)

I have found it a couple of times and have sold it every time. Maybe I'm just lucky.

But congrats on finding your personal hg.

GGD! I forget how much this game is worth; I grabbed a disc-only copy at Blockbuster a few years ago, as I'd gotten the first one in the bargain bin at Wal-Mart, and it was cheap. When I think about that Blockbuster, I wish I'd stocked up on more of their bargain bin titles; they had dozens of copies of Blood Omen there, as well as Suikoden 1.

    Congrats!

I picked that one up a few months back, one very friendly local EB is always quick to check their automated inventory and let us know there was one about 20 miles away. Well worth the drive...missing the manual, but I hope to fix that someday (my Valkryie Profile is the same way!)

I check the Gamestop store inventory tracker on their website every day in hopes of finding another complete one. Twice it's come up, both times they had "already been bought", which I know was B.S....one time it showed back up, disc only. Grrr..

Congratulations! Great find! I paid about $40 for my copy as well, and good god was it ever worth it. I suggest you sit down and play it now- you won't be dissapointed.

I just picked one up from a local GameStop, disc only, but luckily I already had the case/manual. $60 ain't too bad.

    Congrats!

I found one at a pawn a while back for like $5 or $10, I can't remember. It was the CD only. Being the sneaky bastard that I am, I also saw one complete at EB for about $40 or $50. I picked it up, along with a cheap PSX sports game for 99 cents that came in a jewel case with one of those generic blue jewel case slip covers and backing. I took the complete Suikoden II's instructions and back artwork and replaced it with the generic blue ones and returned it to EB for a refund, and voila, I got a complete copy of Suikoden II.
