    Default SNES Tactics Ogre Translation

    Hello everyone,

I hope this is the right forum for this topic. If not, please let me know.

I was wondering about the Tactics Ogre Translation for the SNES. I know there was a group working on it but I have not heard much lately. Does anyone here know what is going on with that? Is it finished/near the end?

    Thank you,

ahh but the loading times are a such a pain in the @ss. I guess i played through once so i could do it again. I wonder if the translating group needs help. I could def. land a hand. Do you have any info on them or a website or something?

    Thanks again,

Judging by the response at the Dejap forum, it won't be happening. I guess you will have to stick to the PSX version.
<Evan_G> i keep my games in an inaccessable crate where i can't play them

Are the loading times for the PSX version really that bad? Are they worse than FFT's loading times (which aren't bad at all IMO)? I found a complete copy (although kind of pricey at $39) and was thinking about picking up. Are the load times really that bad?

well they aren't THAT bad. I played through about 60 hours and i got used to it in the end. But i guess i was just being spoiled and hoping for the snes version.

The load times are MUCH worse than FFT, but they're still tolerable considering it's a fun game. I never did finish it (I accidently erased my 100+ hour file x_x ), and then I sold my copy off because it was disc-only and the scratches on it kept my file from loading half the time. Normally I wouldn't care too much, but when it comes to RPGs, especially on PlayStation, I like to have them complete. Plus my whole plan in buying the lot that included it was to sell off Tactics Ogre and nearly break even, getting a bunch of other stuff for next to nothing. I'm planning to get the SFC version since it's so cheap, and then maybe someday I can get a complete copy of the PlayStation port.

    Default it's your move...

well, you can always get the sega saturn import of TO (well, if it's not over the moon price wise these days)- i think the loading is less of an issue, but i could be wrong here. i have the sfc and ps versions of tactics, and i really didn't mind the laoding times at all. the thing to consider if you only have a US ps one is that hell, this is the only chance you have to play the game in english, so you have to sorta suck it up,

then again, there's always the completely different GBA version of tactics- i sunk so much time into that that i had to stop playing.

TO:TKoL was alright, but a little too slow paced. I don't know about dishing out $40 even if the game is complete. To make things worse, this same EB also has a complete PSX Ogre Battle for $36 >.<.
