Default Quickshot/Watara Supervision Display and Sound! Help!

I have a Supervsion that works (To my knowledge...)

The power light turns on when switched on, however i am getting no sound or display whatsoever...

I have opened it up and looked for obvious faults but i cant find any whatsoever...

i think this might be a common problem with these handhelds as ive seen a few on ebay that have the description "No Picture or Sound"

So any ideas? (No replys saying try cleanin it please! :P)

Do you have the angled or game boy-esque model? If you have the angled I can take a look at mine and offer some educated guesses.

Sorry for the delay on this.

The good news is that the Supervision is very easy to take apart. The bad news is that it is the worst built thing I have ever taken apart. parts are held together with celophane tpae and double sided tape.

Here's a pic of the inards.

It looks like the board on the top contrls both sound and video. It connects to the speaker via the ribbon cable on the bottom. It connects to the LCD board via the pins at the top, which fit into a jumper block on the bottom board.

You can open it up and see if the pins are connected well, but I think you may have a lost cause. The only thing the video and speaker have in common is that main board. All but a couple connections are soldered, hot glued, taped, or inaccesible.

An interesting note; After I reassembled the unit, I had the same problem you did. Light but no video or sound. I turned it on and off a few times, each time getting more response. Finally it worked fine, and has ever since then. No idea what that was about, I've never come across that in any machine, ever.

If you'd like more pics, just say the word. I have a bunch that I didn't deem useful, but you may.

I think..... its knackered, and thats why I sold it on ebay as "BROKEN"

Of course I tried to fix it when I got it.

When I got it, the power wouldnt even come on. The furthermost right hand power connector in the battery slot was rusted, so I replaced it with a terminal from a gameboy magnifier with light that I was about to throw away.

Then it turned on, but as you see.. no picture or anything
