If so (mods let me know), I would like to know how to backup my saturn games. One of them has a nasty scratch on it, and I want to see if by backing it up i can save it lol

just that and thats it? no settings or anything?
youll need a mod chip to play saturn backups.
the chips arent that expensive, but they are kindof hard to find these days, as there isnt much mainstream interest in the sega saturn
nope just insert your game hit copy cd then when it tells you to put in the blank you put it in .Originally Posted by demen999
and of course to play you need action replay or mod chip
EDIT: damn the chick in my avatar is hot . :P
I have a action replay 4 in 1 cart.
Actually i wouldnt recommend that!Originally Posted by Daft Punk
I recommend Alcohol 120% (Easily the ultimate cd burning software around)
In Alcohol you can make a direct copy/iso of the cd and burn it to another one (And save the Iso file on your computer incase u need it again!)

Actually the Mod Chip is needed, the 4in1 Action Replay is for imports! IIRC!Originally Posted by Daft Punk

or as an alternative to the mod-chip you could just do the swap trick, all you need is a piece of sticky tape and a phillips head screwdriver, basically the button gets held down on the inside of the machine, you insert import or back-up chop over to domestic real then back over again, very easy thing to do
alcohol and clone cd works? - i never had any luck with those and saturn games - saturn games have that boot sector - kind of like a dreamcast game
damn I thought my 4 in 1 would do it......crap. I guess I am going to try it then. I thought it would be fine with that.

im not 100% sure, but this is what my friend said he did to both of my saturns, he said he popped them open and added the tape, which means i have to start with the bootleg, then over to a real english then back to the bootleg.. like i say he said it was just tape over the button which makes the disc spin on the inside, allthough i cant get in contact with him to fully clarify as he lost contact with me a few years back
if i could explain it better i would, and i dont fancy pulling apart a console i have relitively no technical knowledge of just to find out whats what
swap trick goes like this:
open saturn, find the lid sensor switch, tape it down so your system thinks the door is always closed.
insert burn and turn system on. watch and LISTEN for the spinning speed. there's a part where it slows down. once it slows, grab the burn out, and put in a legal game. once it speeds up again, switch them again. Takes a little practice.
alternatively the modchip is cheap and easy, http://www.jandaman.com/games.mvc?c=SAT has them for 15 bucks.
