Default Anyone have problems with the DS?

My fiance got me a DS for my birthday and it rocks!!! I did come across a problem them. On the top screen I had a red dot (pixel) burnt into the screen. Now I know the PSP had pixel problems up the ying yang buy I never heard of this problem with the DS. Target let me exchange it no problem so all is good and I can play Wario Ware and Super Mario 64 with no red dot problems but has anyone else heard of this or experienced this time of problem??

Any LCD based device can have trouble with dead pixels, and my DS had one too. Thankfully, Nintendo has a good service plan.

He's right... I remember hearing about the occassional SP dead pixel. I don't think the problem was as widespread as the PSP was though.

I haven't had any dead pixels, but I did leave mine in my purse one evening and discovered I had a broken hinge when I pulled it back out. Was a bitch to fix but I eventually got it super glued.

I bought a DS on release day and returned it because it had a dead pixel and some dust under the top screen.

So this is more than a problem than I thought it was, though, I never heard of any until today. The problems with the DS are definately not as abundant as the PSP, though.

My DS doesn't have any dead pixel. However, my G5 iMac does have one lit pixel, which is barely annoying, since it's less noticeable than a dead pixel.

Anyway, it is part of the technological drawback to LCD screens in general, and it's fortunate that Nintendo has a rather good coverage plan for it.

It was strange, but one time while I was playing Yoshi Touch and Go the sound on the DS went completely out. It didn't return until I powered down the system and restarted.

Luckily I haven't had any other problems, and I play my DS to death. It seems like one of the more durable handheld systems out there.

Dead pixels is just a flaw in the LCD screens... it happens even in lime green screened gameboys.

Unfortunatly, the DS has a lower max resolution so burnt out pixels are far more noticeable than with the PSP, but Nintendo is far easier to deal with in replacing them.

I got one with a stuck pixel - so I just went back and returned it for another... Best Buy was cool about it.

I've had my SP since last Christmas and it has one or two dead pixels, what can I do about it now (if anything)? It's not a big deal but it bugs me sometimes when I play it.

    Any info?

I have 1 PSP, 1 DS and 2 Sp's. Luckily no issues with any system other than an isolated "freeze up" on my PSP playing Untold Legends. It was weird. I was playing, wanted to save and it locked up. I could not get the screen unfrozen. Even if I powered off it cam back locked. No options worked to get out of the locked screen. Ten Minutes later. All was right again.

Well, i have experienced two problems witrh my DS:

Extreme Sound Surround - I've only experienced this when playing Super Mario 64 DS. Sometimes, the sound will go in Extreme surround (I mean, like Two instruments playing the same notes in perfect chorus) But, If i get the DS in standby mode, that fixes the problem.

Misplaced Pixel - My DS' Touch screen has a Pixel issue.. One pixel is always red. I've had my DS for over 7 months, and it hasn't really bothered me that much.

Most of the time i use my DS for playing Warioware (Original) On the top screen, So i don't experience these problems that often.

I had this problem while playing Yoshi Touch and Go last night. The sound played in "Extreme Sound Surround" for a while, and then the sound went out completely (again). Strange, I hope if something breaks, it does it soon (for warranty purposes).

I bought mine at launch and was quite pissed to find it had a dead pixel. GameCrazy was not going to let me return it, but a Nintendo rep was there and he gave me a new one.

i just realized i've had that sound bug too.. it's not extreme surround at all, it is a slight delay of one of the channels (right i think), so you hear everything twice, making it sound like two instruments.

Well, that settles that.. Now on to wonder why Some DS Systems have pixels that are always red, instead of not working..
