I bought this a few weeks ago and received it in the mail yesterday. I REALLY want to play these titles figuring that I have never tried one before but, they are factory sealed. What to do? What would you do? Thanks in advance!

Take a hike, wang-broom!
I swear I can smell your stinky hands from here!
If possible use an emulator and leave those sealed. I know it's not the same, but eeeh.
games are meant to be played. I've bought tons of new, sometimes hard to get games that are sealed, and I open 'em all.
Screw rarity, its all about the fun!

One of the things that makes this hobby so awesome is the fact that what we collect actually has a use beyond being aesthetically pleasing. Game on!
Whatever you do, get the most out of it. Open it, and play your heart out. Enjoy every minute of the unending fun. Or, preserve it, and be proud. Flaunt them as a centerpiece and rare token of a forgotten history.
Either way, refuse to regret.
It all comes down to 2 things. how much you treasure it verus how badly you want to play it.
For example i bought 2 sealed copies of D2, one US, one Japanese. I opened the US one because i really wanted to play it, but i kept the japanese one sealed because i wanted it in my collection, it's treasured.
If you really want to play those then play them. The beauty of our hobby is that it has two sides:
The Hobbyist - A guy who collects games to play them, but likes to keep a few sealed ones around just so he can say he has them.
The Collector - Strives to complete his collection as fully as he can. He keeps much of it sealed to preserve it's purity. He loves games but perfers to emulate rather then opening his precious copies. Or he buys 2 of everything.
I'm of the first mindset. Games are to enjoy and play first and foremost, But i do love to have a couple of gems in mint condition.
leave em sealed. I started to go into my usual rant about this topic and decided to leave it alone. Wait a couple weeks til you see another auction or two and spend a couple dollars to buy those games loose. That way you can have your cake and eat it too.........a couple of weeks later.
Open and play...it's just fun to goof around with an add-on device. There are tons of those floating around NIB too, so it's not like you'll be hurting their value all that much.
Leave them sealed, buy either the cart version(easier to find). I would recommend playing and opening all sealed games, but you have a set of sealed games, making it more valuable. I collect as much as I play. It all depends on why you got in the hobby(I got in it for fun and an investment)

Leave em sealed. Believe me the games aren't much fun.
If you don't play it, what's the point [besides staring at it] of owning a game?

Good night, is this torture or what?! I read one post and I think to myself “Yeah, games are for playing, I’m opening these things up!” Then I read another and think, “Yep, it’s a new, complete set, I should leave them sealed.”
AAAAARG!!!!!!
I’ve been thinking about this all day now…what a drag!
This is why I don’t normally buy sealed items, I can’t take it!

I personally only buy games to play them, not just to say I have them. I'd rip 'em open and plug 'em in in a jiffy, but that's just me.
Move 'sig' for great justice.
Leave them sealed.
They aren't being made sealed anymore. (Well, unless it's from some resealer) So, why open them (And degrade their value) When you can get more copies that are used, And not hurt the value?
After all, One of the reasons that Many people Collect is because they want to keep these games in as good condition as possible.
Used copies will not have as much chance to exist in the future, But brand new copies will stay in Great condition for a longer period of time (Provided that the owner keeps them sealed and keeps them in a dry climate, and does not damage them)
Here's another vote for opening these up and playing them (and hoping you'll have fun in the process).
On another note, Micro Machines is great. Best unlicensed NES game ever, imo.
There are a vast quantity of these available so I would see no problem in opening them and playing them ... however ... My problem lies in the Deck Enhancer itself. It is my belief and I may have read it on these boards that that device (and the Game Genie) have wider than normal pins which spread your system's connector. As a result, your licensed games will load much less easily.

I choose secret option three, which is: Sell them all to a collector of sealed games (Myself) for an incredibly low price!Originally Posted by smokehouse
Or, instead fo devaluing these games, why not just buy up a second set of pre-owned ones? Wouldn't even have to matter what condition they are in either, so long as you are simply going to play them.
You'd then be safe knowing you have an immaculate set all perfect!
That is very true. I got a Game Genie way back in the day (back when I sucked pretty bad at games) and used it all the time. My NES finally got to the point where it would take like 10 minutes just to get a single game to start up every time. Someone who worked at a video game store once told me that the Game Genie spreads the connector. I haven't used my Game Genie once since I got a new pin connector off of ebay, and I don't intend to use it ever again.Originally Posted by 8bitnes
As for those sealed games...I'd open them and play them.
