Default Atari Lynx I & II different power supply?

I have a lynx I unit that works fine with a Sega master system psu ( 9V 1A) fitted with a plug adapter.

things are not the same pluging my psu to a lynx II.
power led blinks and game won´t load, screen remains
black. this lynx II works fine on batteries.

any ideas? do i need another Psu (higher amp?)

is the lynx II partially broken

They both have the same power requirements. But the Lynx 2 has a dodgy power connector, it's prone to getting loose and not connecting well with the power plug tip. That's what I would guess is happening.

There's a few Atari dealers like Best Electronics

who probably have the replacement part but you can usually get another lynx for $10-20 so it might not be worth it to get it fixed
