Default For Free: Panasonic Color Video Monitor CT-2084Y 56K Warning

Anyone willing to pay shipping on this bohemith gets it. If no interest... it goes to Salvation Army or garbage... dpeneding on which is easier for me

I dont know if this works or not, but I can get it to power up and give a blue screen

It also looks like the screen is divided into 4 quadrants... so maybe this is menat to be a security monitor??? I dont know...

Hmm..... yeah, I might take it. how much for shipping to Austin, TX?

BTW, what do you mean 4 quadrants? Does it affect the viewing? Like.... any visible lines while playing? And does it have a decent picture?

Ill check shipping costs after I weight the thing

There are visible lines that you can make out when the thing is turned off. I cannot get this thing to show any kind of picture other than the blue screen (I dont think I have the right connections for it)

Well, I just researched that model and came back as a professional video monitor -- my neighbor directs films and does video editing on screens like this.

have you tried the S-Video? Like, with a SNES or something? I just don't want to pay for shipping and then realize I can't play games on the thing, haha. That's all I'd use it for.

    Thanks.

Wow, this is going to be expensive to ship..... it is a perfect 2 foot cube, weiging 50 lbs.

I cannot ship this by regualr mail, it has to go purolator, which will cost 72.64 CAD (Approx. $60.00 USD) (To Texas)

Also, for anyone interested, the screen is 20 inches on the diagonal....

    Thanks anyway!

Okay.. just tested it using the only S-video capable device I have in my house: a DVD player

It played a movie with nice sound and picture, but no color. All B & W. Since I do not have a S-video capable TV here, I cannot test and see if perhaps the DVD player is whats wrong.

Those connectors that lead to the "VIDEO" are called BNC connectors and a BNC to RCA connector can be found at Radio Shack.

I know this because my PAL/NTSC TV has these same connectors.

You seem to have a gold BNC to coax connector in your last picture....try using a system with an RF Switch.

Possibility is infinity! You must be satisfied!

I found out what was wrong with the S-Video... I had a bent pin on one end of the plug... it plays in good color...

And I have tried to use the BNC connector with an RF switch, but It wont let me... I could never get it to work.

So, this thing does work... with the S-video connector and one of the RCA jacks for audio

The BNC port won't work with an RF source, it would have to be a composite signal.

Any ideas on how I can get something to mimic composite so that it would work?

You have no systems that use RCA (A/V) cables?

the converter i talked about (that i own) allows me to simply plug my yellow video cable into the video BNC connector.

composite video is the yellow plug on the cable which comes with any modern game console (n64, playstation, dreamcast, ps2, xbox, gamecube.. the list goes on.)

those black lines are most likely there because the thing WAS used as a security monitor, they would have used a video splitter plugged into this, the thing would have been left running forever with the black dividers on the screen, the lines left there now are burnt into the phosfers in the picture tube.. you may not notice them when the thing is on, but i wouldnt pay much for it..

this is a true monitor, not a tv, you will NOT be able to play RF consoles on it.. only consoles with composite or svideo.
