Is there anyway to indentify if a game in PAL or NTSC without looking on the box or in the manual?
I know that my old TV gave black/white if I played NTSC games (got PAL tv), but on the new it doesnt. Get color no matter if its PAL/NTSC.

Depends what console the game is for.
I was thinking of PS2/Xbox/GC
On the PS2 stuff, if you see a "U" or a "J" on the packaging somewhere, it's either North American or Japanese, and you're in good shape. Not too sure about the others.
Ye i know But is there anyway to find this out without looking on the box, manual or disc? Like some software or something.
On GC Games, see the model number (Has EUR for Europe, USA for NTSC and JPN for Jap).
PS2 and GCN discs say PAL on them, if they're pal of course.
EDIT, oh, without looking at the disc, my bad
Yep, thanks for all the help tho
When you have an unmodded PAL console they play only PAL games. So when a game is not working its NTSC.
Trying to figure out what regions your old backups are?
I always wished people would make "current" emulators that can only check a disc for boot and region, ect, not play anyhitng, just so testing stuff would be easier. Especially for people making their own legal backups who can't make them play on the real console.
on gamecube spines... the Gamecube logo is at the top for PAL games and the bottom for NTSC games... easiest way to tell IMO
