I voted the playstation as opposed to the jaguar because, unlike the jaguar, Playstation had the lisences and still managed to screw it up.
I'm going to have to say Super Nintendo
I'm going to have to say Sega Genesis
I'm going with 3DO
I'm gonna have to say Neo-Geo/Neo Geo CD
I have to put my vote on the Sega 32X
No question, I have to go with Atari Jaguar
Sega CD sucked big time. That's my pick.
The TurboDuo was lame. Hu cards and CD's sucked
The Sega Saturn was a total freaking dud. Admit it!
Playstation, Gaystation, that system sucked. I don't care what anybody says!
The Nintendo 64 was an abomination to gaming! Yuck!
Sega Dreamcast deserved to die a painfull death, and should have died sooner!
I voted the playstation as opposed to the jaguar because, unlike the jaguar, Playstation had the lisences and still managed to screw it up.
I went with the Jaguar. Im too tired to list my reasons.
Ouch! My kitty's taking a beating!
I voted 3D0. Overpriced. All-out crap for games. Sorry, Mr. Hawkins. It sounded alot better on paper.
I would've voted CD-i.....
Actually my 2nd choice would be the Playstation. Just wasn't a fan of 95% the games. (sorry! don't kill me!)
I was one of those rare people who actually liked his Jag, even though he wanted to kill himself after the price fell from $249 to $99 in just a 2-3 weeks time, and all the good upcoming games got canned, at the same time. The port of Rayman (which I still have, even though my jag was stolen several years ago! ) blew the PSX port out of the water! Can't tell on the Saturn version. Never played it.)
I'm with ya! .. this thread really is trouble.Originally Posted by ig88vsbobafett

I said the N64 mainly because it threatened my videogaming credibility with family and friends. When Playstation started selling like wildfire, I clung to my SNES and promised everyone that the next Nintendo system was going to blow it away. After all, it was going to be based on some professional graphics supercomputer or something.
When it finally came out, I waited for the non-platform gaming genres to fill out, and waited...and waited...and finally sold the system and got a Playstation like everyone else had...and enjoyed it for years and years. To this day some of my casual videogaming friends still bring it up!
I would say 32x with the Jag running a distant second. Only the 32x was totally berieft of excellent titles. "Good" was as high as those puppies went and there weren't a lot of those. If I had to pick the biggest failure from this period not on the list, I would go with the Pippen.
It's pretty shocking that somebody actually voted for the SNES as the worst of the 90's, considering pound for pound it's the best system on a planet called Earth.
But....
I'm actually more shocked that this many people could vote for Playstation as the worst. Now that is just blatant anti-Sony Fanboyism at it's purest form. I hate Sony just as much as everybody else, but voting the PSone as the worst is absolutely laughable. I mean, that was the system that had Oddworld: Abe's Oddysse, and Wipeout, and the first Resident Evil, and one of the best versions of Doom, and Crash Bandicoot and Loaded and Assault Rigs and Klonoa and Einhander and NBA Live '96 and Metal Gear Solid, etc, etc, etc.
The 3DO had alot of really horrible games, no question, but people are forgetting all the great games that system had. They are also forgetting that in 1993 and 1994, the 3DO was so far ahead of everything else technologically wise, that it was some damn impressive kit at the time, Mate.
The 3DO had the best ever version of Out of This World and Wolfenstein 3D. Some even argue that the 3DO had the best version of Flashback: Quest for Identity. Fans of the full motion video genre (few as they are) tend to feel that the video quality and sound quality of Night Trap 3DO and Sewer Shark 3DO look vastly superior to their Sega CD brethren. Then you had the games like Road Rash. Remember the first Road Rash for 3DO? That shit was pimp! Don't even trip. Man, I played Crash N Burn in December 1993, and that was the most next level experience I have ever had. Sure, ultimately, that game isn't very good, but you have to understand what was out in Dec 93. I mean, a game like Crash N Burn in 1993 looked light years ahead of anything else. When Slayer first hit the 3DO, that was a true 3D RPG action game, that came out of nowhere, and was incredibly ambitious, and didn't quite work on all levels, but still was pretty damn impressive for very early 1994. Escape From Monster Manor? A freaking classic if you ask me. Pretty damn simple, but it was an amazing game for it's time. Fifa Soccer on the 3DO? Talk about Next Level. The sounds in that game were totally revolutionary compared to any previous sports game. Remember Slam N Jam 95? When this game first came out, you had gigantic, realistic looking basketball players running around, and it was totally amazing. Sure when NBA Live 96' hit for the Playstation the following year, it made Slam N Jam 95 look weak, but initially Slam N Jam made you think you had a real arcade machine at home. True Arcade or even better than arcade quality graphics for the home.
THE 32X SHOULD BE WINNING THIS VOTE IN A LANDSLIDE!

Besides, the Saturn was the system that made you the loser.
hahhahahaha ok j/k
And don't bring up that stupid girlie Aladdin rip off! Shantea?
Wow TurboDuo and Genesis only two systems to not get any votes.
That's much love. I sure as hell would never give either of those systems a vote.
This was tough. I like all the systems mentioned. I'm just a big video game geek. I like to find the good stuff and concentrate on that for any given system. Plus I just love collecting video games in general so I'll buy just about anything except for sports games. Oh and maybe RPG's. Not a big fan of those.
That said I voted for the 32x. Besides the Star Wars game and Shadow Squadron, I didn't get excited about much on the system. If the Virtual Boy had been a choice I would have voted for that.
I actually liked what few 3DO games I played such as Road Rash and Need for Speed. There were a few more that I wanted to play that got decent reviews such as Return Fire, PO'ed and Samurai Shodown but the price of the machine kept me far, far away!
The Jag is another system that i like for some great games. Everyone always mentions Temptest 2000 and Alien vs Predator but I also really liked Iron Soldier 1 and Iron Soldier 2 CD, plus Rayman, Cannon Fodder and a great version of Doom (minus the sometimes annoying music though).
to all of you who say 32X has no worthwhile games, I say take a look at "SHADOW SQAUDRON" one of my top 10 games of all time!!!
the CDi is not on this poll, and it was by far the worst.

So... you'd rather play the Jag's, 32x's, or 3DO's 10 best games as opposed to the 10 best games for the PSX?Originally Posted by Ernster

I voted 32x. I've got every game for it, but I'd take the 10 best PSX games over the 10 best 32x games any day. You can have some fun with a 32x or Jag, but come on... people think these things are better than a PSX or SNES? Fanboy drama I say.
Thanks for indulging my gaming habit when I was young, Dad. You were the best. I miss you. ~David Barnes 1926-2007~
I had to vote for the N64 after much debate.
It was tied with th 32X and Jag but I happen to like the jag and didnt think it was a bad system just not many great games were released for it within its short lifespan and I dont consider the 32X as a "major system" it was an add on and even Sega stated that it was a stop-gap between 16-bit and 32-bit.
A few quick reason for my N64 vote: first if it wasnt for Nintendo and RARE this would have been one of the most hated systems ever released IMO.
Sure in the beginning the N64 started out of the gate with all cylinders firing but it was only becuase of ONE title MARIO64 then came the first looooong drought of terrible to subpar games wich would eventually become the norm for the rest of this systems life.
Second: the cheesy fog filled fuzzy a$$ graphics the majority of games on this system had so much "fog" to cover the insane amounts of pop-up it looked like everygame was smoothered and hidden or something
To this day ppl and even some gamers try to point out how much more powerful the N64 was than the PSone but with both the cartridge format and the badly designed machine itself (well compared to the easy-to-develop-for PSX) I never saw that it was all that powerful and was only really impressed by the Nintendo and RARE developed games.
last but not least: THE FREAKIN CONTROLLER sure I might be here but I would rather use a Jag controller for 24 straight hours playing fight for life on Jaguar than be put through ONE MORE HOUR OF GAMEPLAY ON THE N64 CONTROLLER.
Dead anolog sticks that give way after very little use terrible buttons sure the Z button was kool but those damn "arrow" buttons were like pressing a rock into your thumb
so I vote for N64 maybe because it was the biggest dissapointment in my gaming life or for the simple fact that this was a very poorly designed and developed system with the worse controller ever made by my beloved Nintendo.
ULTRA64 Hell yeah! N64 Hell no!
all of the great promise and hype that me and my friends believed in back in the day when playing the incredible Killer Instinct on the ULTRA64 hardware and Nintendos promises was just a hint at what their new console would deliver never materialized and was complete bullshit in my opinion.

If you're shocked, you haven't been paying attention to the general attitude of a lot of people on this board. Sony (and it's better if you spell it with $ like $ony because we all know Nintendo is making games for strictly altruistic reasons) is not only Satan, Hitler and bin Lande but they eat kittys and kick puppies. Or maybe that's the other way around. Anytime you give people a chance to pick Sony...err $ony...as "worst of," people will do it just because it's Sony.Originally Posted by Anthony1

All I meant was that I'm considered the videogame expert by my family and friends, and when I hyped the N64 up as the next big thing and bypassed the Playstation to wait for it, we all expected more than we got. A lot of my friends were fighting game fans back then and some of them had bought Playstations for Tekken, etc. The first year of the N64 brought Mortal Kombat Trilogy, KI Gold, and Fighters Destiny x_x . So when I finally sold it and got a Playstation I received some "good-natured ribbing" from some friends.
Those days never existed. There's been fanboyism since the Atari 2600 and the Mattel Intellivision.Originally Posted by Captain Wrong
