Default NY gamers and Spiderman 2

Anyone else find the spiderman 2 world to be feakishly accurate? I mean of course a lot of stuff is missing and the detail leaves a bit to be desired but for hte most part I feel like i am in NYC when i am playing the game. i would love to make a comparison of the acual manhattan and the one in the game to see how it measures up to others. Anyone else fascinated by this game?

    Just wondering.

I saw them filming for the movie down near city hall a long while back (obviously). They really nailed the sites. Everything is dead on.

Yeah, I moved away a few years ago to Alaska. This is a great game to play when I feel homesick.

I thought that the re-creation of NYC was pretty decent in the game.

However, it does seem that they downsized a bit obviously, skipping a few streets here and there.

I think that I may have said this before, but they really should have given you the option to "Enter your NYC address" at the begining of the game - then during gameplay, should you choose to visit your address, Spiderman could then look i into the window of the apartment (the address that you entered) and see someone playing videogames.

Would have been really cool and freaky to boot!

I dont know how that would have panned out becuase the streets in the game arent named. i mean, think about all the adresses that would have been put in there. Thats a lot of information. Maby the next gen stuff will be capable of stuff like that. Personally, I would like to see that model applied to an online game where you can live out your life similar to the sims. You could have the option of being a normal joe, or a superhero or what have you. it could be like animal crossing where you can visit other people and see al the neat stuff they own that they bought at one of the games many stores. That would be neat. People could do whatever they wanted. Hows that sound? They would have to include all five buroughts though, as i myself was a resident of the stupendous city known as Queens.

Tsk tsk. As a born-and-bred NYer (and resident of Queens I might add), I'm saddened by your sentence. Not only did you spell "boroughs" wrong, but you claimed Queens as a city! Sad how many people don't know NYC is actually all 5 boroughs together...and even sadder when a former NYer makes that mistake..and dares to dis Queens..*walks away shaking his head*..........

So you gonna revoke my Queens card or what? Geez, I've been away for like four years dude. i only said "city" because most of the people I come into contact with that have never been to NYC dont seem to grasp the concept of boroughs. And as far as the mispelling goes....chalk it up to my fine NYC public school edumication.
And whats the deal with you anyway? I try to start a nice lighthearted thread about something and you feel you gotta flame me over a typo?
Where in Queens are you from anyway?
I lived in Forest Hills for twenty one years before I joined the military.

well if you're looking for an "accurate" portrayal of the city, the next true crime game will be based in nyc. but yeah it was pretty fun in spiderman....especially jumping off the empire state building.
