    Default Atari 2600 Gets hot?

Ok,for some time ive had an Atari 2600 and the maximum ive played it to is 15 hours strait ,it got some heat.Anyway i read somewere that the system is the power adapter meaning if you keep your atari pluged in ,the chip gets hot even when the system is off. Is there any proof of that or is that a bunch of bull. x_x

Keep it plugged in and find out. I've heard that too so I just turn off the surge strip it's plugged into when I'm not playing it.

um... If I'm reading correctly about what you're trying to write, the answer is "no". The A/C adapter will get warm tho, but the system shouldn't.

I thought he meant the AC adapter itself could burn out, which I've heard can happen. Never happened to me back in the day when the VCS was plugged in continuously for, ohh, say four years, but I've heard it can happen.

Yeah, it's always better to unplug the A/C adapter. I picked up a few extensions with on/off foot pedals, so I can turn all 20+ systems on or off with a simple tap of the foot. Plus, having that many A/C adapters - even when no systems are on - represents a measurable amount of power consumption.
