related story: my mom a long ways back was gonna sell my nes and games at a garage sale, but she decided not to. it was only like 15 games but hey, they were my original games and system. i'm glad she didnt sell it :P

Years ago I had a mother trade in hers sons collection when he went to college. I wasn't at the store and the employees paid 25 cents trade 10 cents cash per game. Thats what I told them to pay for old games that they didn't think we could sell.

I dont know how the law stands in the US, but this would be a risky buy in the UK.

1. its stolen property, it would get confiscated
2. you could be prosecuted for recieving stolen goods. knowingly as the opening line reads.

I would also expect that it says somewhere in ebays rules that you should own the goods you are selling, otherwise that would lead them open to being done for "handling stolen goods"

There is a sayng in the US; "Posession is 9/10 of the law". If she had bugged him to remove the stuff from her house, and he failed to do so, then he would have a hard time going after her for selling it.

Either way, I think this auction is bullshit. If I were that guy, I would divorce the wife toot-sweet.
