When Initial D was made life was good. The 86 trueno was the king of akina and takumi was the driver of the 86. When Inital D made it to america, Tokyo pop decided to "americanize" it. This "americanization" required tokyo pop to change every name from the original japanese names to more american names. Takumi, the star, is known as Tak here in america. This was not enough for tokyo pop though, A PC game was made with the Initial D licence. This game was called, Initial D mountan vengence. This game used the tokyo pop version of the anime. The music, graphics were horrible. The worst part is the controll scheme. A button must be used to "drift" even though the car is going perfectly straight, the "drift" button makes the car slide. The PS2 version is just like the arcade version. The sega arcade game is a lot better. The issue with the ps2 version is that it will be better then the PC version, will be on par with the arcade version 3 and will more then likely be pirated here in the us. Other then that, it would be nice to see it here in anywhere except japan but tokyo pop would be humilated that their inferor PC version is crap, and arcades may take a cut in profits due to the fact that every one is playing it at home. There is nothing much to change to make it work for other countries becides translate some simple text, put it in a box and sell it.
