And they have two copies on ebay. And somehow I doubt Pool of Radiance bootlegs are a hot item.

Though I don't edit Greg's work anyway, I completely missed those. I"ll forward this along to him so he can revise.

I love reading this column very much. On the other hand, I don't, since I have to go out and buy at least one of the games he mentions! It never fails!

I was reading some of the back issues and was glad he had posted a screenshot for Shadowrun Mega CD. I had been curious as to what the game looked like but had never seen any screenies... then again I don't think I ever really looked.

It's too bad they never localized it, I love Shadowrun. I used to play second edition with my brother when I was a kid.

whoops! well, whaddaya know, lol! you DO learn something new every day. i got info on the marty stuff at the absolute last minute, and i got so crazy over all that new info that i forgot to re-proofread the article. correction time!

i actually had "might and magic II (& III???)" while i was researching, but forgot to remove the III once i had confirmed it does exist (which is funny because i had it here staring at me and waving from a stack of unopened duo games that i sold off about a year ago, lol). as for pools of radiance- well, that's a mistake (throws noose over shower curtain rod)- i have all the other nes a d & d games, and was having a tough time tracking down that one. i got my japanese pools from someone who said it wasn't released here, so i just (gasp) figured he was right, lol.

as for klayman gun-hockey? i lucked out about 2 years ago on ebay, and i've never seen another one there since. i think you can submit a request on yamatoku's japanese site and see if they can track it down for you (or maybe someone here who's in or on the way to japan) can grab one for you. it's pretty funny for such a limited game...

alrighty, off to re-write and get these rope burns treated. i'll see if i can dig up some prize-type stuff for the first folks to point out each error

as to the pics, some stuff is mine, some was sent to me as attachments with no site info, which is why nothing is linked. for playstation games, you can see scans of almost every game released for the console here: http://allsoft.scei.co.jp

yes indeed- it did have a keyboard (and that netlink adaptor that almost no one used, here lol). i was going to do something on netlink japanese stuff, but it's one of those topics that takes a bit of to get through in a column (and i'm still compiling a list, lol)...

A new installment of this series is now online. Greg has really outdone himself with this sprawling report on PlayStation import SHMUPS. Cool stuff!

    Enjoy.

d'oh! before i get hit on the head with postings stating this- i think i actually missed a choaniki game for the pc-engine (well, that's one more to track down one of these days, lol)...

i may do an odball import sports column next time, as i finally got a klonoa beach volley a few days ago (part of an almost year long trade from a friend in japan), and man is this game fun!

anyway, if you don't hear from me over the next couple of days, it's because there's going to be a bunch of workmen here breaking stuff up and causing clouds of plaster and brick dust to settle all over the plastic dropcloths set up and taped around a huge ziggurat of games and systems on the floor and walls in my place (it looks like an oxygen tent for a small elephant, ). i HATE renovations . even more than moving...

oh well, back to covering up more stuff so that it doesn't get trashed...

Great column as always Greg! If your taking suggestions, I'd love to know about weirder "Japaneasy" games such as Tail of the Sun, Cubivore, Vib Ribbon. (I know two are us releases and you've covered the other one, but that get's you the idea). The abstract, twisted and bizarre...

Yet another very nice column. Kudos!

Hell, you covered some games even I didn't know (like Gundam/Galaxian crossover), and that's no easy task. The oddball import sports idea sounds great. There are so many of those... from the various Kunio outings on the Famicom through D3's new T&A-heavy "Love" series!

In case you let yourself get all embroiled in Nintendo DS discussion this weekend and MISSED it... Greg Wilcox' "Did YOU Know" column was updated today.

If you're into imports, you really owe it to yourself to check this column out, and the back issues too! Great stuff.

Thanks! Of the many great feature columns, Did YOU Know? is my favorite one. Thanks to Greg's column my favorite PS driving games are now known as Rallye De Africa and Rallye De Europe.

Nice to see the 3DO getting a little respect for a change.

A new column went online today, outlining some of the really bad games from the past 10 years of the import world.
