Default Game Cube with a GBA player

I don't have a game cube, there really aren't many games that interest me on that one. But I love the idea of playing GBA games on the television, kinda like the good old days of buying SNES carts.

Do any of you guys have a GBA player? Is it totally radical? Do you use it often? Give me your impressions.

    Default GBA Player...

I haven't used it to much but I generally feel it falls somewhere between the SNES and the NES. The graphics are solid but not quite as good and the games seem to be slightly shorter and often less sophisticated....

I have one-it's definitely worth it if you can pick it up used. Make sure it comes with the startup disc though!

I definitely dig the GBPlayer. I've honestly used it ten times more than my Cube...mostly because I can't take cube game with me too.

Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission ruled on the GB Player in a dark room.

I have it and its great. Also I haven't picked one up but Hori makes a very cool SNES style Gamecube controller for use with the GBA player. I think with the two combined and the right GBA games you could set yourself up for some new SNES type gaming.

I love mine, its nice to play the shooters on a TV instead of the little gba screen.

I am a huge fan of it. I have the Hori GB Player controller too. It cost me $23 or so when I got it on ebay, and I highly recommend it. I dislike playing on the gba as it is too uncomfortable, but it is a pleasure. I would really suggesting getting it, as you could probably manage to get a setup for about the price of a GB Micro.

It's cool, although personally I don't play it too much. Then again, I only own about five Game Boy Advance games. I bought it so I would have a place to play GBA games, but I haven't bought many GBA games.

If you can get it used, I'd say it's worth it. I got it at GameStop during a buy-two, get-one free sale and got two $20.00 games with it. I think it was $24.99. For that price, I feel very happy with it.

I just wanted to add that if you want to play two player you'll still need another GBA. It was something I wondered when I went to buy mine.

    Two words:

    Go get one now.

This is one of the few 'launch' hardware items I bought and I never looked back. It does see a lot more milage on my GC than actual GC games. Mostly because I like to play RPGs on it. The picture is acceptable, the fact that you now have an oversized gameboy at your disposal that doesn't eat batteries or requires you to squint is a great and glorious thing. Since it plays pretty much everything but DS games should be motivation enough. It's like getting an extra 1.5 consoles on your console.

So yeah, I like mine a lot. -- What's your point?

    Hex.

Its good. I was surprised by the quality of GBA graphics on the larger screen. I thought they would look pretty lousy once blown up to size.

I am a bit annoyed by the fact that you have to use a disc while using it.

You can also use it w/ flash carts or pirate carts to play classic NES games, etc w/ a controller. I think that's where that hori control pad comes in real handy.
