Yes, thanks for that, I CAN read, but no reply to my question about pre-orders.

The game was supposedly finished months ago, I dont know why they cant ship it.

Ive never heard of a pre-order 6 months before release, have you?

I've also had no response to the email I sent on March 30th.

I'm not (yet) doubting that the game is coming in due course, but why bother saying that people are free to contact you and you'll answer any further questions if you're not going to respond?
Frankly, the customer service has been pretty shoddy so far, and I won't be rushing to pre-order any subsequesnt titles after this one.

Are you kidding? They're taking pre-orders for the PS3 as we speak. Gamestop was taking pre-orders for the Xbox 360 at least six month prior to its release. You can pre-order most Madden games six months before they ship as well. I'm pretty sure the new Zelda game was available for preorder for a few months already and they still don't know when that game is going to come out. Lastly, counting the push back in its release, I'm pretty sure that I had my copy of Kingdom Hearts II pre-ordered at least six months before it actually came out. It's not as uncommon as you think.

Besides, the Beggar Prince website has always said that the game wouldn't ship until spring. That's doesn't mean the very first day of spring though.

Working for EB as I used to do, I can guarantee you that Zelda: TP has already been preorderable for at least a year. Madden usually shows up a month or two after each release.

I answer every e-mail that comes in to me about Beggar Prince. If I have not responded to your e-mail, it means that I did not receive it. In any case, I apologize if you feel your inquiry was neglected.

As I said, I respond to each e-mail I receive about the game.

I also do my best to visit key forums which discuss the game actively and contribute answers to the questions people raise within them. However I don't always have the free time to stop by these forums as often as everyone may prefer. Sending an e-mail is always the best way to ensure a speedy responce. In that, people are encouraged to contact me and I'll do my best to respond with helpful info.

I am sorry you feel this way. However, I am interested to hear any suggestions you may have as to how I could improve the customer service for everyone.

Well, the email I sent was through the contact link at SuperFighter as you stated above.

Is it still on course to be shipped in May?

Is it possible for you to give a preview of the box cover?

WOW... Around 400 preorders already for a game with a run of 600 copies... I'm glad that I placed my preorder!

I wonder how many pricks pre-ordered 3 or 4 copies so they can instantly turn them over on eBay for three or four times the original price.

I don't see that happening. The people that know about the game and want it will be preordering it. Why would they "instantly" be bidding hundreds on a game they could have preordered for less months and months prior? Yeah, in time, the game might be worth 3/4 times face value, but not instantly.

I considered preordering some to eventually resell, but decided against it a while ago for the above reasons (and also because I'm not convinced it will increase in value 3/4 times). Why does pre-ordering something like this to resell make you a prick? You're not buying *all* of them to resell, thereby not causing someone to miss out. The producer is happy because they are selling more copies. You are happy because you are confident you will be making a profit. The eventual buyer is happy because he now has the item. What's the big deal?

I'm definitely looking forward to the game, though.

Presumably, if the pre-orders don't sell out the entire production run, Superfighter will co-ordinate the despatch of the pre-orders with their own listings on eBay. Factoring in a bit of a markup to cover fees etc, it should still easily undercut any scalpers. If anyone pays over the odds then, it is entirely their own fault.

If the game does sell out on pre-order, then the price will become whatever the market determines. I would imagine a game with a 600-copy production run will attain a reasonable market value quite quickly, and there's not much you can do about that apart from get your pre-order in ... with a third left, you're not exactly in great danger of missing out just yet.

That's unfortunate. I can only wonder if I am missing out on any other important e-mails. In any case, I hope to be able to answer all of your questions here, on Digital Press.

To be completely honest, that cover is crap. Sorry, but even I could manage something like that in Photoshop.

I dunno, I think it's cool enough. Definitely reminiscent of the style of early Genesis RPG's. And it could be worse.

I dig the cover. There's nostalgia to the design. I'm sure it'd be easy enough for Photoshoppers to make their own cover if they wanted.

It's probably too late for the suggestion. I realize the game is already well under way in terms of production. But before going with that choice, you could have held a contest for submited cover art like they sometimes do for the Atari homebrews. It's just that, I mean it's not... er... look it's ugly. Real ugly.

You've already gone through the trouble of presenting this game as a genuine comercial release. Why discredit the professionalism of the product by releasing it with amateur artwork? It was a really poor choice I think.

Yeah, the art itself isn't that great...

But I love the fact that it looks like an old genesis game

    Can't wait!
