    Default GAMETAP

I did an interview last week with one of the fine folks at Gametap. I think the service is pretty cool and it has Dreamcast emulation! There are some obscure systems on the service that have yet to be announced. I've been told what they are but can't tell, trust me it's awesome though.

Anyway, my question to all of you is do you think it's going to start killing the classic scene? If this service takes off (along with the Revolution virtual console) will we see a decline in used/classic game stores, shows like ECGXpo and CGE, and interest in real classic gaming? Feel free to address anything i missed.

If this service takes off i see a consolidation of the scene. It won't bother me much but I see it hurting everything.

Nothing can kill the classic scene. To be honest i think if Game tap does anything, it's going to be to boost the classic scene. Sure some people will be happy with gametap, but other, people new to the scene will see these old games and may think, "this is pretty cool, maybe i should see what other games from that time were like."

All in all though i don't think it's going to make much difference.
