    Default NES Ice Hockey

Would anyone be up for an NES Ice Hockey Tournament? Or perhaps a professional league?

the Jnes emulator can play games online. From the jnes menu you run the "kallaiera" client. Just make sure the rom names are exactly the same for each user.

I would be so up for this if someone irons out the details and links to a "how to" site with info on how to play NES games against others online.

Alright count me in. I usually hate emulators, but since I own that catridge this all good for my ethics. Better train up.

Its simple, I basically already explained it.

Download the JNES emulator (google Jnes)
    Run it.
Go To "Options" then click "Kailera"
Choose the directory where your roms are located.

A list of servers will then pop up, select a server, choose the game, and play!

Just make sure that the game you want to play with someone else, has the ewxact same file name for each user.
Example: Contra.nes and Contra(US)(ENG).nes will not work!

man that sounds awesome. I used to love ice hockey and never dreamed of playing it online. I have the JNES emulator ready to go. Does this mean you can play tecmo super bowl online also. Now that would be awesome

I am definitely up for this. Been trying to get people in IRC to play NES online for a while. In fact, I brought it up with a MR.NES today, but he was apparently not believing me that it could be done.

Are we going to use the GoodTools filenames, or just have everyone name their files to something basic?

    Goodtools title would be:
    Ice Hockey (U) [o1].nes
    Tecmo Bowl (U) (PRG0) [o1].nes

    Renamed title:
    ice_hockey.nes
    tecmo_bowl.nes

A basic configuration, such as all lowercase and underscores for spaces would probably make the most sense. That way anyone that has organized their collection with GoodTools can simply make a copy of the game and rename it, and people that just want to compete in a single event won't need to go through the hassle of getting the (J) and [o1] portions right.

Nestopia is a superior NES emulator with netplay support.
