I can't get the boost start either.

Really though it does not matter all that much - the power slide & boost is so much more crucial to this game - so much that it's almost unplayable without using it against real online oponents.

To make this slightly easier for everyone, I will be doing the following when updating the main list -- instead up updating it by adding them in alphabetically, when I update the top list I will make a "Most Recent Update!" and "Previous Update!" that will entail the last couple days. That way, if you want to add new players in, we can still see them all, but you won't get confused.

After about 48 hours in one of those lists, I will be moving them into the "main" list, so if you only check once every couple days, that should work out.

Finally, I will do the suggested "DP Name / My Name" thing for the list. If you have already submitted your name, please make another post telling me what your username is. I will do the first update to that at some point tomorrow.

Final note, I'll continue to try to update this list at least once a day, but will ramp that up if there are more people that have submitted codes (and ramp it down if no one has )

Lets assume people with only 1 name currently that don't tell you otherwise use the same name in MK. As do all of the people I've played so far.

Avatard also, *sigh*, kicked my ass and lost my perfect record with DP people. I *had* been 1-0

I don't slide at all. I do ok. I will agree though that it can tip the scales in a close race. And on certain tracks.

Quick question first: will this become the all-purpose MKDS appreciation thread, or should we start a new one?

Had a great time online tonight. I managed to hook up with a few DPers, which is good - y'all are the only ones on my list so far. Again, I'm amazed at the quality of online play. I only had hiccups on one or two races; the rest of the time, it stays fast and smooth. I happen to be an aggressive player (slamming into everyone), so that's very important to me.

Oh, yeah, sorry to whoever I knocked off the track on Rainbow Road. I laughed all the way to the bank.

One gameplay tip: don't launch a blue shell if you're in the lead. The darned thing takes you out instead. I learned that one the hard way, just as I was about to win a race. So many races seem to come down to that final stretch, and who has the right power-up in hand.

Seriously, DPers, get this damn game now. I think I'll be buying the DS/MK bundle for Holiday presents.

No, this is for the Wi-Fi connection. NOT Mario Kart. These numbers will probably be used in all Wi-Fi enabled games, this is basically like an Xbox LIVE member list. But for the DS.

Sorry, Nintendowifi.com and your Mario Kart DS manual say otherwise.

    Happy gaming though.

    On another note,

YOu can get pretty nifty looking signature's from Nintendo Gal's website right here.

In online play last night (in my two matches) I did notice some of the "jumpyness" that people had talked about during a race with Avatard and classicb. Avatard's car moved totally normally, but classicb was jumping around a bit, and once I shot a turtle shell his way and it looked like it hit him for about three seconds before his car flipped.

Even so, it didn't detract from some very close races.

I realized that I still miss the coins gaining you speed though like the SNES version. That used to be such a great way to get that little bit of extra boost to get ahead of people. Regardless, the game seems extremely well balanced, so I can't complain.

Daniel T and whomever else I was playing, sorry for dropping out of the game. My network keeps going up and down, so the cable company must be doing something. Instead of dropping out randomly in the middle of a great Rainbow Road race, I'm going to sit out the rest of the night.

Eh, I don't mind. I was too busy crashing into every object I could see. I usually trust the DPers to play through without quitting (something which thankfully hasn't been happening yet). I actually didn't realize you were gone until Rainbow was over. It's so easy to get knocked off the track.

You should work on your decal, though. A really cool decal will totally help you win races. All the other racers will go, "Woah! What was that cool decal?!" And while they're distracted, they'll crash into those green pipes and lose.

Not that, um...that ever happened to me [whistling].
