Default Intelligent cube playstation festival 2000 remix

I recent had a very large purchase of video game items.

I was going through it and came across these disks in the lot.

They come in cardboard sleeves much like some demo disks and are sealed with a small piece of tape. They are all marked NTSC J and across the bottom black boarder have the words PLAYSTATION FESTIVAL 2000 in gold. In the left hand corner a gold slash with the words PREMIUM DISK are present.

    Ridge Racer V
    Fantavision
    Street Fighter ex 3
    Gran Turismo 2000
O story (man this looks like a porno)
    Konami Playstation 2
Koei (4 games I can't make them out)
    and
    I Q Remix+ Intelligent qube

My question is on the IQ remix disk. Was another Intelligent Cube released
in Japan afterwords? Was this just some quickly remixed version of the first given away as a promotion or was a precursor to the Japanese released version.

Anyone have any of these disk?

Absolutely no clue. As far as I know, there's no other version of Intelligent Qube that's been released. My best guess would be that it's from some software or trade show...giveaways or something. A lot of the Japanese trade shows give away free limited versions of the games shown there, or of popular games. If you collect TG16, you may know about the famous Summer Carnival releases of a bunch of shooters...sold and given away at the gaming Summer Carnivals at the height of NEC's gaming days. Same thing as the regular game, but timed modes and such. Harder to come by, sure, but really for the die hard only. It may be something like that.

if you are interested, I'd be happy to trade for the IQ disc and maybe the Koei one tho Just PM me as I'm a big IQ fan!

I'm not sure from reading your post that you know about the PS2 version of IQ... if not, yes. There was indeed a PS2 version, called I.Q Remix+. (Note the lack of period after the "Q".)

    Very early release.

If you did know that, feel free to ignore this post. :)

IQ Remix+ was on the PS2. I'm thinking the disk you have is a precursor to it, much like GT 2000 is a precursor to GT3.

Sorry for the poor picture. It's a decent game, but I still prefer the original IQ.
RIP bargora, you will be greatly missed. That is how we do things on Giedion Prime.

Wasn't aware of the IQ Remix...thanks for the info. Guess that's one game I'll want once they make a non-mod import booter for PS2. Still, bet that what he's got is a trade show demo version or limited version.

These were the demo disks given away at the show in japan. Many gaming magazines and websites had people attend Many screenshots were derived from these demos before the games were released in the US. I also think these were not regionally coded and were used in some kind of disk swapping trick to play import games. Here is a bad picture:

    Yeap thats them.

I have all but the golf one and the "FROM SOFTWARE FIRST PREVIEWS"

So they are basicly demos disks huh? You think I can play these on a US PS2 system hmmmm. I'd love to try out the Intelligent Cube remix but won't break the seal it if I can't play it.

    Default hey!

there are actually THREE I.Q. games:

    Intelligent Qube
    I.Q. FINAL
    I.Q Remix

the first two are for the ps one, the 2nd is for the ps2. oh, yeah, o story isn't porno at all- it's an adventure game. any of those you don't want, let me know- i'm a'collecting demos galore these days.

as far as i know, there is no swap trick to play japanese games on a NON-modified u.s. ps2, but who knows what datel is up to...

I believe O Story was released as "Love Story" when it finally came out, but correct me if I'm wrong.

as a matter of faaaaaaaact: http://allsoft.scei.co.jp/title.zolar

oddly enough, while it LOOKS like "O Story" on the cover, it's called "Love Story". live action adventure game with some cute japanese gals, but no nudity to be found at all...
